Because it's the type of season that warrants this before the last game is finished. Happy pissing and moaning everyone :)

I honestly don't know what to expect during the off season. Obviously they need to determine who will be the head coach. I'm assuming they'll just give it Rolston, only because that's the easiest. I stand by the fact that Miller AND Vanek will not re-sign with the Sabres.

I say Miller's gone no matter what. Get rid of him in the summer to maximize your value. Vanek, I'm willing to wait out until the trade deadline.

Ya know, I really hate to lose Miller if there's any way to keep him and he's willing to stay. A very good, true number 1 goalie in his prime is tough to come by. Just ask the TB Lightning.

With the team rebuilding in just about every other area, why not hold onto the one piece that is a proven and established commodity, not to mention the most important single position on any team.

I don't want to leave the number 1 goaltender position to chance. Sometimes you don't what you've got til it's gone, and I could foresee some very dark times if Miller leaves and the next guy up doesn't play at a high level.

If Millsie leaves then Vanner is hittin' the dusty trail as well. And there is no way in sams hell he will be donning a Sabres sweater next year. Expect management to make things uncomfortable and force Millsie to flat out make an ultimatum with the team. I just don't see him having a change of heart after what he did during the booing and such. His words during the interview were probably much lighter in heart then what he was/is actually feeling

They will be here next year regardless if they sign or not though. They both have one more year left on their contracts.

I hope we keep Rolston, and hopefully he gets new assistants.

Contractually, yeah they're here. But will either be traded?

I haven't seen the video of it either, but this new article sheds a bit more light on the situation
http://www.buffalohockeybeat.com/miller ... bres-fans/

Quote:
Miller said he simply lost his emotions.“Some people were giving me some grief,” he said, “and I just picked my hand up, like, ‘OK, I hear you.’ It wasn’t a, ‘Screw you.’ It wasn’t a, ‘I hate you guys.’ It was, ‘You know what? I hear you. All right, enough. I get it. Just let me try to do what I got to do.’ It was just a tough game.”

Quote:
It’s been disappointing for this room, this organization. I don’t think anybody takes it harder than I do. So I don’t think anybody should be able to question me or say I’m mad at the fans or I don’t respect or enjoy the fans here, and I’ve done more than my fair share to go out and prove that I’m part of this community and give back as much as I can.

I dunno...I hope he starts for his 500th and the fans in attendance play nice for a game. I think he's earned that at least.

/and Lieno had a lung injury?? WTF?

BTW Miller lied. It was a screw you because he said in the interview "if they can dish it out, they can take it"

How is Rolston "not sure" if Grigorenko will be assigned to Rochester this weekend?

Why wouldn't he? Why not just put him the fuck down there? Is this really rocket science? JUST DO IT.

Who knows? Does Grigorenko want to play in the AHL?

He's 18 and has played a lot of games, would he actually do well or is he worn out?

My five cents is that they asked him what he wants to do and he is mulling it over. I don't think it's a we haven't made a decision so much as Grigs

Miller is saving face in the event he is back in a Sabres sweater. I bet he pressures for a trade

And also about Grigorenko, need to ask Regier about him and not the coach.

Bingo. And at this point if he is fatigued and worn down it would make sense not to throw him into a situation that may cause him to be injured and cause long term concern, other then the ones we already have, for this organization. I can almost bet that Darcy put this ball in Grigs court and the coach won't get wind of jack until a decision has already been made. My bet is Grigs would like, maybe even love, to play. The voice inside his head is telling him to think this out before pulling the trigger one way or the other. We will know by tomorrow at days end at the latest.

He is a kid who grinded with NHL players for a good portion of the year. That is very taxing on anyone let alone someone who didn't get a full year of development in regards to skillset development and physical. With all this being said this kid is going to be "good" next year and will be a force in 2. Hodge will carry the first line and is very, very good. He will only get better. But then you toss in Grigs with a full year of NHL training and development and he will be very serviceable in the second line roll. He will go through spurts like anyone but I think due to inexperience these spurts will be enlongated and more sporadic. I won't be upset during his droughts so long as he plays and leaves all his shit on the ice. I.E. Not Roy!!!

Haven't you noticed that Miller says and does things in the heat of the moment? Doesn't mean he lied, just means he speaks before thinking....
