We'll see what happens... I complete agree with XC about the way the decision was made. It's just very bad business practice to make such a huge decision without interviewing all qualified candidates.

And how do you know they didn't interview anyone? Just because it was reported doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Um, Darcy stated it in the WGR interview before the presser and at the press conference.

Roloston should be fine. Who knows how the team will do next year, all I really want to see out of the team if they won't win is the try and heart to compete. And it seems Roloston may get that next year. Just need hard work.

And with the way Roloston said about a "playoff-Caliber" team. He knows they aren't good enough to win a cup yet alone win playoff series right now.

At this point, my expectations for this team as basically dropped down to "just play like your NHL careers depend on it." IF the Sabres don't trade Miller/Vanek they will definitely play lights out, that's something to look forward too.

If someone says "playoff calibre" then my opinion is the team is good enough to be in the playoffs. Even with the "comeback" this team was no where near being good enough to be in the playoffs.

Hopefully RR can take these young players and make them a force to be reckon with. I hope RR has the balls to make this team other teams hate playing against, both offensively and physically. I hope he doesn't fall back on offense only like the Sabres tried for the last few seasons. I hope he continues to make this team tougher, stronger, and meaner along with building their offensive power. Which is extremely weak.... Especially on the power play.

I just don't know....

Tortorella would be available now, but it's too late for the Sabres. Darcy made his decision too soon.

Would you want Tortorella?

Has one of the best goalies in the league, had some of the best players in the league, yet still couldn't get to the SCF.

HELL NO, I don't want Torts. Based on his behavior in the Boston series, the guy seems to be in the middle of some kind of breakdown. He insulted multiple players while talking to the press, made a dumb decision to bench Richards (twice), and cursed on live TV more than once. All this in the course of one series. Hell, even Mike Milbury thought Torts was out of control! That ought to tell you all you need to know right there!

There was no way the Rangers could keep him, after what he did to basically destroy his relationship with the players.

Actually yes, I'd want him. He's definitely not an easy personality to deal with but since in my opinion the Sabres players are treated too well and not held accountable enough, I'd like a coach like him.

On the other hand we are in rebuild mode and are a very young team. Rolston might be the right guy and a playoff run isn't gonna happen soon anyway.

I'd want him just to give the TBN guys some attitude.
