Eventually this ought to get moved to Sabres Prospects, but I felt this was newsworthy enough to make mention of in the main section of Sabres Hockey.

"Regier Methodically Building A Winner"

Another good article up on Maine Hockey Journal by Chris Roy that has the standard stuff. What Regier is doing for the kiddos, veteran signings and departures, blah blah blah...wait, what's this?

Regier also wasn’t shy on the status of Nathan Gerbe and Tim Kennedy, who are just two of 15 forwards fighting for 12 spots. If they earn a spot on the roster, the Sabres will make room for them by either the waiver wire, or trades.

“They been good, both of them,” said Regier. “They’ll get exhibition games, and we’ll have input, from myself, the coaching staff and the organization will have a chance to evaluate them in those games and we’ll have to see where it goes from there.

“If they’re playing at that level, past history suggests we’ll find a way to find spots for them – if they’re ready to play.”

That wowed me pretty good, as it's been the first concrete evidence that Regier will do what it takes to put them on the ice this season if they're ready.

This reminds me, I need to invite Chris to the new forums :D

Oh, I'm assuming it's just Darcy Speak, but the fact he outright said if they're ready, he's dumping dead weight impressed me.

...the day I see Darcy (and Larry and Tom, for that matter) actually take a loss to better this team, is the day I'll believe it.

These guys are all so tight, they squeak. If they really wanted to contend, they would use all the tools available to them in the CBA, including veteran bonus-structured contracts, the waiver and buyouts.

These guys are timid chickenshits who want to fill the seats without taking any risks or suffering any austerity-measures for their miscalculations.

Fuckers couldn't run a dry-cleaners.

Hey, better he's saying it than giving us the usual PC horseshit.

I also want him to say that about our defensemen.

As I said in the GDT, the call on Rivet was horseshit. The Bruins player was holding onto Rivet's stick like it was the last fucking raft on the Titanic.
