Did Any other team interview Roy? I don't find any other team giving him an interview besides the Avs anyways.

After Sakic become Pres of Hockey Operations it was a sure bet Roy was going there.

Even with Roy as coach here, I'm pretty sure we would have maybe one more win.

Honestly, I don't remember if any other team interview him. At least Sakic interviewed others for the job, unlike Darcy. Darcy flat out admited that he did not attempt to interview anyone else for the job. I personally think that's piss poor since his job is to hire the best candidate. I guess time will tell if RR will be able to make these teenagers worth a damn.

Um, I didn't know the whole league was looking for a coach before the start of this season.....

I was under the impression that Roy didn't want to coach anywhere in the NHL, except Colorado.
And I certainly can't think of any good reason he would have even considered coaching the Sabres.

Considering he's essentially Jesus to you, I'm sure 29 teams would want him as coach.

But my point still stands; MANY other teams were looking for coaches, and the Sabres aren't on his list.

Roy wanted some say in hockey decisions, something Regier definitely would not have given him.

And Roy had been offered the coaching job of Colorado 3 years ago also, I'm sure that played into it also. Roy also has any final say on any hockey move Colorado makes too.

And Rolston was a winning coach with the Sabres last year. You seem to forget we started out 6-10-1 and finished the season, 21-21-6 A 15-11-5 record in 31 games under Rolston.

What if we finish this season dead last, then next year under Rolston we finished first in the league, are you going to flip flop and then say he's a great coach? Look at the game we played against San Jose. Someone lit a match under their ass for that game. I doubt it was them, I'm sure Rolston's practice the day before had something to do with it.

No doubt the writing was on the wall for Roy. He initially didn't want to move to Colorado, that's why he didn't take it three years ago.

Time will tell exactly how good Rolston will be. I honestly don't think they will be any good under him. He seems to not be worried about how competitive they are.

He wasn't hired by Darcy to win games. He was hired to develop players which is a bad decision by Darcy. You don't develop your teenagers in the NHL, that's what the AHL is for. Especially when most of them are not NHL ready, by any means. This horrible record is by Darcy's design. I'm sure it's working better than he even expected. It reminds me of the movie Major League, where the owner does everything possible to be the worse team in the league.

There is absolutely no way this team will be first next season....

If you ever listen to Rolston, all he ever talks about is compete level. He's definitely worried about how competitive they are.

I'll repeat myself...you cannot win a championship without the right pieces, especially star talent. We're well on our way to achieving that this year if we finish last. I'm hoping we finish last next year as well so we get Connor McDavid who is pegged to be the next Tavares or even as good as Crosby. Good times ahead!

I agree with you, about star talent. I'm fine with tanking but what I'm not fine with is Darcy at the helm. I don't think he can complete this rebuild. A fucking monkey can pick a star if you have a top three draft spot, especially next season. It's adding the correct pieces after the fact that takes brains. The way he's mishandled the recent attempts to add the right pieces convinced me that he's going to fuck it up. I'm not talking about the recent drafts, I'm talking about veterans. He has over and under valued veterans for years. Resigning players like Roy, Pominville, Stafford as top line players when they're great 2nd and 3rd liners, at best.... Then adding players like Leino who, like Myers, was a one hit wonder. Both of which are not worth the contracts the Sabres gave them.

Thats why I don't think it will ever happen under Darcy, no matter what stars the Sabres draft

Disregard my last.......
