So, Pat Lafontaine is supposed to know how a hockey team should work, right? But he's looking for a new GM?
I don't quite understand the flow chart here...
Can someone help me out?

President is more of a manager....He oversees all aspects of the organization(player, fiscal, etc) He sells the organization to potential players.

GM is more of a salesmen. He sells the players(trades, signings, etc) to other organizations.

If that helps any hatch. Kind of broad but hope it helps. Kind of broad and is my general viewpoint. I could be wrong

What would you guys think of Kevin Devine as GM? I believe he's done a good job drafting for us.

Patty said he knows nothing about being a GM. He says he knows good GMs and wants to bring them in.

Talk to your doctor if you're experiencing priapism...if your doctor hated Darcy too, you're probably ok.

Quote:
Priapism (/ˈpraɪəpɪzəm/[1][2]) is a potentially painful medical condition, in which the erect penis does not return to its flaccid state, despite the absence of both physical and psychological stimulation, within four hours. Priapism is considered a medical emergency, which should receive proper treatment by a qualified medical practitioner. There are two types of priapism: low-flow and high-flow; 80% to 90% of clinically presented priapisms are low flow disorders.[3] Low-flow involves the blood not adequately returning to the body from the organ. High-flow involves a short-circuit of the vascular system partway along the organ. Treatment is different for each type. Early treatment can be beneficial for a functional recovery.

Not all sources give four hours as the guideline for priapism occurring: "The duration time of a normal erection before it is classifiable as priapism is still controversial. Ongoing penile erections for more than 6 hours can be classified as priapism..."[3]

The name comes from the Greek god Priapus (Ancient Greek: Πρίαπος), a fertility god often represented with a disproportionately large and permanent erection.

Pretty much this, as well. The Mrs' called me at work to share the news and I was floored! Just yesterday I was talking with one of our fellow junkies on facebook about how I'd love to see this move happen but didn't see it happening until the offseason. And then T-Pegs goes and drops an A-Bomb on everything that used to be the norm. I was starting to believe the longer this shit show stayed the course, it just meant that the organization was ok with skating in sand.

Bringing in Nolan, I don't see him being here long term but if he can bring in another message and get these guys working, maybe this season won't consist of as much suffering we've had to sit through, thus far.

Over all, Image

So what's the story with Ted Black? Do we now have 2 presidents?

Yeah. Ted's official title is President/Alternate Governor on the team website. Ted has absolutely zero to do with the hockey department. He said time and again that firing Regier was not his call, and that he controlled absolutely nothing with the hockey side of things. Black is basically your President of the business side of things for the Sabres. Regier was essentially the "President of Hockey Operations" while also serving as the GM. He had no boss but Terry Pegula.

So now here's Pat LaFontaine. He's the President of Hockey Operations, and he'll hire his own GM, who will eventually hire his own coach, be that it may be Ted Nolan or someone else.

TL;DR: Ted Black is business President/CEO; Patty is the Hockey President

Patty said he knows nothing about being a GM. He says he knows good GMs and wants to bring them in.

He says that, but I bet he could do it if he tried.

Heard rumors on facebook posts saying that Messier could be the front runner for GM. Do not put much weight into that ,but, I would be more then fine with that. Patty La, Nolan, and Messier?? I will roll a rebuild with that. At least its different and has the potential to be entertaining.

Just a little too late for Vanek to stay here, might be enough for Miller, who knows....I'm wondering what the final reason for it was.
