I am trying to keep my enthusiasm in check but this kid is unreal. His spin-o-rama, his assist to roommate Moulson, and his short handed goal. This kid is better then I thought. He will literally slow the game down and makes the most complicated things seem so simple.

I'm pumped. I've been out of town and haven't been able to hear any radio, analysis, etc. on his game except for the GIF and video the Sabres Twitter posted.

I am really hoping people start flocking back here. I really liked the environment around here. Smart people and good humor. Sad to see it look like this.

I know, I check back all the time but it's a ghost town. Let's hope that more come around now that the season is coming up.

Well for those who do not know Eichel is living with Matt Moulson. Eichel is wearing his training camp number until he actually makes the team. Which I think is very humble of him.

The thing I like after watching him this preseason is how clutch he is. Game winning goals and poise. The kid can fly. He gets a step on someone and he is gone. Barely looks like he is trying. Looks like Mario Lemieux or Sergei Federov out there. I heard comparisons to Getzlaf which I am fine with. Tank was well worth it.

Tank was definitely worth it no matter what anyone at TBN says.

How about that game last night and his performance with Ennis and Kane?!?! I was watching vines and updates on twitter and he sounded fantastic, heck that whole top line did! Ennis is looking good now that he is on a line with some real talent.

The kid is going to be a top 15 player this year as a rookie. I have not ever seen a Sabre do the shit he can. I hope Bylsma keeps Kane, Ennis, and Eichel together. No one can keep up with that speed and there is enough thump to protect Eich. I forget how big Ennis plays as such a little guy. He wrecks people. Kane is a beast. Ennis may put up 60 points this year. Wouldn't surprised to see Kane put in 30-35 goals.
It's nice to see Ennis so happy. Lol there is a gif of Ennis face washing Eich on the bench just grinning ear to ear. Kid dealt with so much shit the past few years and was a professional about the whole tank situation.

Two short-handed goals?! This kid can freaking fly too. It's crazy seeing a player with so many different skills on the Sabres after the past two seasons were so horrific.

Yeah...that shortie against the Leafs yesterday was the first I've seen of him this preseason and holy cow...the effortless skating...the speed.
He's going to be so fun to watch.

I think they're televising the game tonight and he should be in the lineup too!

Tonight's lineup should be 90% opening night lineup minus injured guys out right now...half our blue line. I hope Guhle plays tonight. He's a high ceiling prospect who has made it all the way to final cuts. Real talent. Larrson has been dominating this preseason. Winning face offs and knocking the snot out of people. He is a center for sure this year. Push Reinhart to wing on second or third line.

Anyone get an Eichel sweater yet?

My Dad drove out here last month for a visit and surprised me with one.
Good thing too since my other most recent jerseys are Miller and Myers :/

Nice, cross!

Anyone get to watch the game on Friday? I only saw about half of the third period because of the MSG crap. Eichel looked fast and just so smart, like a good NHLer already. So excited to see this kid progress over the next few years.

I went on Friday, so saw the whole thing. Eichel looked OK for the first period. The whole team looked like crap for the first period, and he was on the ice for a few goals against, but he wasn't the worst out there either. He had a hustle in his step every shift, can't say anything bad about that.

Third period he looked awesome. He's really gelling with Kane. I see what Bylsma is trying to do with Gionta putting some veteran leadership on that line, but really Ennis should be the wing on that line. That combo was deadly together the week before, and Eichel seems like the perfect center to be able to set a guy like Ennis up. Could be a 100-goal line in a year or two.

Post subject:  Re: Jack Eichel

He played really timid the first 2 periods. Almost like he was feeling everyone out and seeing if he could do it. Then he scores that filthy goal and the light clicked on telling him he is already better then 90% of the NHL already. He went off after that with Kane. They made fools of everyone on the ice. That duo needs to stay intact.

Then again this being timid could be a result of him playing his first NHL game at 18 fucking years old.

On pace for 48 goals. I like Eich.

Got home in time to see that goal yesterday. I was watching it with my dog right there and just went "Waaaaooooooooooow!" Then my dog looked at me like I was crazy.

I knew as soon as he stole that puck back and skated down he was scoring that. It's so weird having a player with that type of skill on a team that you're rooting for; just so elevated above others.

I really, really like Kane with Eichel. I thought it was going to be a problem with Kane being a me first guy but he adds protection for Eichel. Kane has a nasty forecheck that leads to little mistakes that Eichel can capitalize on. Eichel should have had at least 2 goals and 2 assists yesterday. The assists were slam dunks that our guys aren't used to getting. It takes time.

The thing that blows me away is his drive. He gets tripped and is superman in midair and still handling the puck as he's flying around. We may have won the lottery. Best talent since Gilbert IMO.

The kid is 18 years old and he is making plays all the time that just have me going holy fucking shit. Are you serious? At 18 I was pulling hey misters for alcohol. I wasn't tea bagging NHL players.
