Modano is on the last year of his contract. His contract is $2.25m. Do you think Dallas might be willing to trade him so he has one last chance for a Cup run? There is a good chance he will retire after the season, but if he decided to keep playing, he could pull the classic Tkachuk and just go right back to Dallas over the summer. Modano is a very classy team leader and I think it would be a great addition to add him for our playoff run. How about Modano and Ott for Stafford, a prospect and a pick. May be a lot for two UFAs, but I think it be a great move for bothe teams.

Besides...Modano would look stupid in anything other than #9, and Roy already wears that.
