He is a 6'3 215 pound Center. He has put up 89 points and 91 points playing with a Panthers team right after the lockout. He has put up 30+ goals 4 times in his career, all with Florida. He is 31 so he has some life left in his career and he has put up 13, 14, and 18 PP goals in different years.

He can bring in a better PP option and he makes our centers, or at least one of Roy/Connolly expendable. And with his down years the past two years 57 and 50 points respectably, he shouldn't command anything more than 4 million a year.

I honestly think we should take a gamble on a two year deal with him, he can still put up points, and he should be eager to sign with a team that should be guaranteed a playoff berth the next few years to show what he can do in the playoffs.

He also has 5 points in only 6 playoff games, we can only hope he's dying to get to the playoffs again.

Agreed. Plus he's so clutch he couldn't beat Brian Boucher in the shootout to keep his team alive for the playoffs.

This

I don't think that Jokinen is the type of guy that you win with.

If Messier were our captain, I'd consider letting him play on our 2nd line and our PP, providing no one else were signed.

Messier is not our captain.

He can still play, you either take a gamble on a guy to improve the team, or not.

I was just trying to think of a very viable option to help our PP out and give us a Bigger Center than Roy and Connolly.

If the price is right, and if you follow that up by moving either Roy or Connelly. He would be an upgrade but I wouldn't start planning the parade.

Yea, too bad, for 3 million I would have gladly taken the chance on him.
