Is everyone comfortable with the idea of using our first round pick if it helps us get a player who could really help us in the playoffs?

I'm okay with the team tanking for a higher 1st round pick. Do whatever it takes.

I wouldn't mind. Other than the past few years and Vanek we really haven't had the best 1st round luck so I'd rather us trade it for someone who we know has a better chance at helping us win the cup now rather than in 4 or 5 years.

I don't have confidence that the Sabres' FO can identify that type of player.

Just look at the Moore and Torres deals..........

Yeah, I don't think giving up a 1st for a rental is the way to go. I don't think this team is good enough in the present to start sacrificing the future. That being said, when are they going to be good enough in the present?

I'd rather that they throw a $3.5M per year 2 year RFA OS at Marc Staal that would cost them a 1st & a 3rd!

I'd kill for an offer sheet for Marc Staal, too. If he signed and the Rangers let him walk, the Sabres would have Staal and Myers anchoring the defense for a decade or more (best case scenario) and at least a half decade (worst case scenario).

Every fan will say yes, which they should, because most teams would do it. Buffalo however, no. It's not how they do business. We rely on our youth and always look down to the future instead of the present. Trading our 1st round pick never even will cross Darcy's and Quinn's mind.

Depends on where we fall. Darcy's latest draft pick trades haven't helped all that much. I know i have my eye on a few of the Centers eligible for the next years draft. if we could land a decent center who could replace connolly and give us that legit number one centerman. i'd keep my pick.
