I think he'd be a good fit for sure and he could likely be had for dirt cheap. Bring him in on a one year deal for shits & giggles and see what happens. Obviously the guy still wants to play, still CAN play and would be a nice addition. Only problems that I could see are:

A. Where does he fit in (who gets shipped out that is realistically movable)
B. How much is his price tag, anyway?

If he does, and if by chance Darcy had a reasonable chance of landing him in Buffalo and it leaks to the press, Quinn best leave town before the season starts.

I can see those numbers coming to fruition, though. Guerin at those figures is onehellova steal!

Well, we're not going to waive Stafford ever, he's a 1st round pick by Darcy Regier, and he loves his first round picks. He's waiting around for Stafford to realize his potential.

Our roster is pretty full. 21 roster players (13 forwards, 7 defenders, 2 goalies) Also; keep in mind that Sekera has filled in on our 4th line in the past, and could do so again, he's kind of a utility player. A jackass of all trades if you will.

2002 dallas stars training camp. during a scrimmage, a 21 year old looking for a spot hit guerin. it was questionable, guerin turned his back as the kid was coming. guerin didnt like the hit, so he took his stick and swung it like an ax on the back of the kids neck. he then proceeded to crosscheck him in the back while the kid laid down on the ice.

guerins a douche bag. old player =/= great leadership.

guerin wasnt trying to hurt the kid, and the kid was ok. they cleared it up right away. so i give guerin credit. but ive always heard hes a true blue asshole. so i mean, pile it on.

Based on his time here in Pittsburgh, only, I would say that he is a down to earth guy with a great attitude and work ethic. There's numerous stories to back that up. As a player he is loved by his teammates and he plays a stand up game. Yes, he has a temper but he is more than willing to throw down before taking a cheap shot. That's what I've seen with my own two eyes so I'm thinking that what happened back then was a fluke that is being blown out of proportion.

Not necessarily to me it isn't. When I receive a cheap shot that puts my health at risk I will get mad enough to want to fight, but if the dude is going to irk me and then just skate away...well then all bets are off. I might just roll with it, like I do in real life, but on that plane of existence known as a hockey game there's no telling what I'll do if I'm mad enough. Things can be justified if the guy isn't going to back it up with his fists. I'm just saying, if you're not ready to become a victim yourself, then don't commit the crime.
