I am noticing several tweets circulating the idea of us trading Rivet to Anaheim for Jason Blake. Assuming it is just a rumor, might as well entertain the idea.

If Rivet is not at practice and was told before he may be traded, then that opens up a different path.

Pull the trigger. He's not on the ice today.

Anaheim doesn't benefit at all. Sabres get a winger on the sharp decline. Not a good trade, IMO.

At age 37, he can still put up 15 to 20 goals a season, and net up to 40 points. I do not know if we want an older left wing when we need help in scoring centers and right wingers.

Maybe aim for Ryan?

Ryan isn't going anywhere. At all.

I heard this rumor this morning too, but it was Rivet and a pick for Blake and Bodie I'm not sure if it has any value, but I did see this pop up as well, so Sabretooth isn't crazy

Can't really see how this makes sense for either team.

NHL.com: Bodie, Troy (RW)

At age 25, and very late round draft pick from 2003 who has not played a full season in the NHL, I wonder if he is a late round gem that could help us out.

Also, what pick was being rumored to pair with Rivet?

If it does happen, it would be a clear message that we are trying to get some huge bruisers on this roster, and we are going to be playing some serious physical hockey. Given our performance in Toronto, when we played physical, we were able to take over that game at times. If we get more consistence on our physicality, we will be able to grind down teams. And it may open up some more opportunities for a little guys to go against tired defenders.

Regier was probably on the phone with a cardiologist or neurosurgeon, dependent on what ails him the most.

Ya know, with all of this Rivet may be the one to go talk, I have to ask this.
How does shipping Rivet out help upgrade the "core" or "top 6" (sometimes referred to as the brat pack)?

No loyalty to Rivet here, he looks so much slower in his older years and the shoulder is really hindering him, but I am just wondering how this helps us out on scoring.

The only way we will separate with Rivet is by sending him to a definite playoff contender, either in another Eastern Conference division or out into the Western Conference, who needs a rent a player. In return, we will need a roster player or draft picks to use in the upcoming draft for future trades or prospects. It is unlikely we will keep Rivet for 2011-2012.

Here is an average phone call between Darcy and Quinn.

Darcy: Can we look into....

Quinn: No.

-------------------------------

Darcy: We have a great chance to pick up....

Quinn: No.

Those all sum up Darcy issues.

Right. Let's motherfuck Darcy over a trade rumor that as far as anyone knows was started by some toolbox on Twitter.

Until there is something from anyone reputable (and by reputable, I mean not a 5th party re-tweet from the college roommate of someone who works in a concession stand at the Arena) , it's just the same old bullshit.
