Two and a half hours remain. I am sure Darcy Regier will be active than usual if he wants to win like we do.

Listening to WGR right now. I'm curious to see if they get Darcy on the phone and see if he mentions anything about possible trades that may have been in the works leading up to the end.

Besides acquiring Boyes, epic fail. I guess we were not able to get who we really needed.

Haven't we gone over this "Epic Fail" lingo you kick around? It's fucking retarded. Good day.

If you have issues about no moves, consult the Sabres' general manager. He has issues himself.

STFU.

16 trades were made yesterday. Darcy made one of them. Many teams made none.

Out of all the players moved yesterday, Darcy acquired the highest scorer out of everyone. Yes, Boyes has more points then Penner.

So no, not an epic fail. It was about as good as any team did.

Excluding the Boyes acquisition, which was on Sunday, what was the other Sabres trade that was made Monday? I am sure there was none.

The number of moves isn't important. (Nor the timing of 11:55p vs 12:05a since you're being that anal about it.) It's the specifics of what he did.

He added a scoring forward with a lot of upside, and only gave up a pick. What else did you want him to do exactly? Darcy decided that he wasn't going to dump players for picks, so he didn't. He acquired scoring help. That's what they needed.

We needed help straight up at center, a position that will continue having a hole until the offseason. Since we were unable to get help there, keeping Connolly until season's end is okay and doable.

Moving on...

But we're looking at the long haul....not this playoff season. Everyone knows we won't win a cup this year......so why make useless moves to try and improve when we have no chance? Instead make small moves that will begin laying the foundation for the next few years.

DARCY REGIER ACQUIRED A CENTER.

Boyes' natural position is at center. He played wing in St. Louis because they had a ton of centers, and he could play the wing too, so he shifted over.

He'll start on the wing here, mostly because center is a more complex position to play, and you don't really want to toss a guy in at center after no practices and a cross continent plane ride and expect results.

Boyes will play some center this year and next. Bank on it.

Uh I wouldn't really say he is a "scoring forward." Three high scoring seasons out of 8 with the rest average. I will say that he is a playmaker which I hope they take advantage of. His assists are sky high and that is where most of points come from so I would definitely keep him on a line with stafford and Vanek

He's a career .71 PPG. Points are points.

He joins the Sabres in second place in points production, and tied for the lead in assists with Vanek.

That's a scoring forward. He's not a superstar, but he's a solid player who's had two sub-par seasons on bad Blues teams that liked to trap it up.

12 goals is respectable on this team and hopfully he can generate some good chances for our top goal scorers

I might as well get my head out of my ass and wish Boyes an excellent time with us.
