Sturm is a Left Wing and is pretty banged up (if that's the right phrase). The only one I can see him replacing is Niedermayer.
I don't think there's much upside in claiming him. I'd rather see Byron or Adam in a Sabres jersey again.

I agree. But I would rather the Sabres dump alot of dead weight now and get what they can for these players so we have more picks to work with in the draft. Call up Byron, Adam and Mancari. I would love to see Mancari have about 15-20 games straight before we write him off.

Yeah I know people are sick of the Mancari shit. I just don't know how you write a guy off playing a handfull of games here and there and expect him to make an instant impact. I will agree he has had chances but one last shot at 15-20 games wouldn't kill this team. It's not like if they make the playoffs they will make a deep run anyways and if you believe they will you need your head examined.

Mancari isn't a good NHL player. He doesn't have the skills.

Tell that to last year's Flyers then, snuck in at 8th and went all the way to the cup finals.

You make the playoffs, anything can happen still.

And Gerbe does?

both are marginal at best NHL players who are probably going to spend more time in the AHL then NHL when their careers are done.

however, i think mancari has more to offer the sabres, when he wants to play.

At least Mancari has a nice shot and more size.

Gerbe is playing in the NHL. Mancari has been stranded in the AHL since 2005.

I'm going to back out of this discussion before I get uncivil.

Forget about Sturm. He was claimed by the Capitals.

Yeah, the cavernous distance between Mancari and Gerbe's game is probably worth rioting over, let alone incivility.

Look at Gerbe's stats. Not really impressive.

Are Gerbe and Mancari the players we need long term in the organization? If not, we need to part with them.

Parting with both would be more beneficial. Neither seem to have what it takes to develop into good players.

They'd have to be packaged with another player and picks to get an impact player.
