Add Pominville, who has the better trade value of our forwards, and this year's first round pick with Gerbe and Mancari to get something going.

Well, I know most are against this, but Stafford is more valuable and cheaper than Pommers...

I like to move salary to get quality players that we can now spend salary on.

That's a tough call. After getting a center, Stafford is going to be the most important decision in the summer. I hope he'll resign for 3-4 years at no more than 3 mil per.

Ownership prefers long-term players. How many years should we define long-term for?

Market price for a 20-goal scorer is way over $3 million. He could score 30. I think $3 million is not realistic.

Stafford's slowed down lately. I'd like to see more drive out of him on a nightly basis.

He needs to dig in more. That is solvable by a game off.

i don't think he's playing any less harder... i just think he isn't getting some bounces. he's fighting in front of the net and making things happen by opening lanes and stuff. staff's worth 3.5 over several years and 4 over 2.

No doubt Stafford has opportunities. They are not good enough to be lighting up the goal lamp. If he digs in more, he will be fine. If not, it is a night in the press box.

Gerbe is playing in the NHL. Mancari has been stranded in the AHL since 2005.

I'm going to back out of this discussion before I get uncivil.

Yeah, the cavernous distance between Mancari and Gerbe's game is probably worth rioting over, let alone incivility.

Damn right it is. Especially when it gets dragged into a conversation out of nowhere.
