We need one, hopefully an upgrade from Connolly, but assuming we don't win the Brad Richards sweepstakes (if it's even cap worthy), who do you want?

Use this list - http://www.mynhltraderumors.com/2010/06 ... ee-agents/

Fleischmann is tempting, but he's coming off a concussion and missing half the season. He also hasn't proven himself as a consistent pt producer.

Laich is a great option, but Detroit may be in on him and I'm sure other teams will be too.

After that, sorry to say, there isn't anyone on that list that I'd want instead of Connolly at a lower salary around 2.5 mil.

Laich and Fleischman are the only ones I'd take too.

MODANO!

Well, probably just Arnott. Wouldn't hurt to bolster up the centers.

Not really.

Only one I'd consider on D is Erhoff. Solid point producer and

That's 4 guys maybe. Erhoff, I think, is the youngest of the four, reason to me he would be the only one I like.

Guys only 27.

Joni Pitkanen is also a decent talent and is over a year younger than Ehrhoff, who will turn 29 in July.

Wisniewski is the youngest. He turned 27 in February. Being fairly young for a UFA, having a right-handed shot, being a capable hitter and shot-blocker and now a very good pt producer in an offensive system makes Wisniewski the best option to me. I'm worried that if Lidstrom retires he might sign with Detroit since he's from Michigan.

Pitkanen is a no no. Guy is terrible on defense, everyone who is a Canes fan hates the guy.

No point in adding salary just for the hell of it. Give Connolly one more shot if we cannot land Richards or someone of that caliber. There are RFA's out there, Stamkos is clearly the guy that Darcy should persue relentlessly but I doubt Tampa would let him go but they have a bunch of bug contracts alreafy I don't know how they'd afford another.

Honestly I'd wait until next year. There are a few centers that are much better than this years crop of UFA's.

Patrick Sharp
RJ Umberger
Ryan Smyth
Jarret Stoll
Shane Doan

The only iffy one would be Ryan Smyth the rest are pretty good. And an upgrade what we already have.

Shane Doan and Sharp I do not believe are centers.

I believe Doan can play in any 3 of the forward spots. hockeydb.com has him listed as only a center but TSN.ca has him listed as RW/LW. And Sharp is a centerman and he can also play the wing.

Shane Doan is listed as a RW on NHL.COM, Sharp is a LW on NHL.COM. so they're not bonified centers.

I don't like or want him either, but he has some talent. Some team can use him for a puck mover/PP man.

Smyth is also a left wing. Always has been. Doan is also more of a winger than anything. Sharp and Umberger can both play center or wing. Stoll is the only true centerman out of that group.

Anybody taller than 5'9", who likes to throw more than 100 hits a season, wins 50%^ of his face-offs, weighs more than 200lbs., and does not mind letting his temper get the best of him once in awhile.

I bet Kassian would make a great center.
