I just took out the stats that are IMO the stats that we should look towards the most while shopping for a defenseman.

James Wisinewski
PTS - 51
Hits - 108
Plus/Minus -14

Christian Erhroff
PTS - 50
Hits - 54
Plus/Minus +19

Kevin Bieksa
PTS - 22
Hits - 73
Plus/Minus +32

I think I'd go with wisnewski. He can do it all and I'd overpay him to make him come here. What are your guys/gals thought? Who'd you chose?

Erhoff, honestly he is young still, only 27, and a good puck mover, over 40 points in his last three seasons.

Vancouver I think would be willing to part with him because they have a younger better version of him in Edler.

If not, go for Hejda as a better shutdown guy for our team.

Nick Lindstrom  (Like he'd ever sign anywhere but Motown)

and a more realistic option: Eric Brewer

For anybody who wants it and is too lazy to Google it, here's a list of UFA D-men in 2011.

http://www.capgeek.com/free_agents.php? ... _type_id=2

Personally, I love Ehrhoff, Pitkanen, Bieksa, and Wisniewski, and who doesn't.

It's definitely going to be a lot easier to find a UFA defenseman than a UFA center.

Idk, maybe pick up Arnott as a center for the 3rd line then pick up Wisnewski or something like that?

Hell, the way our center depth goes, Arnott could plug right into the 2nd line. Oh, the horror.

Take pitkanen out of your love list and we got some good names. Pitkanen is all offense no defense.

Yeah I noticed that. We don't need another Leopold.

I highly doubt we pick a defenseman up especially with Grag's probably being fulltime next year. But if I had to pick one I would take Kevin Bieksa. I like his toughness and he's played pretty darn well in the playoffs.

Regier has already said he would like to have more experience in the d-corps for next season. I can't post a link because I can't remember what site it came from, but that's as close to verbatim I can get without a direct quote.

To do that means carrying eight d-men again, or trading Morrisonn or one of the young guys. My guess is that if any of the RFA d-men get traded it would be Sekera or Butler, but I doubt that happens.

Jokes are funny.

Anyway, I like Ehrhoff the most. If not him, then go after Wis or Bieksa.

How about none of these guys?

Erhroff looked like shit in most games in the playoffs, Winiewski is a goon and and idiot that takes penalties like crazy and Bieksa is really very inconsistent.

Ehrhoff is a bad option because he was great in regular season but "shit" in playoffs? He was hurt and played through it, and still wasn't shit. Then you flip and say Bieksa was inconsistent, even though he was a farking monster in the playoffs?

Wisniewski was a goon in Anaheim because that's what the organization was/is about. In Montreal he was a minute hogging great two-way d-man that collected a ton of hits, blocks, and PP pts WITHOUT the extra BS PMs. Watch him get a king's ransom from a foolish organization like oh, say...Detroit, that wants a replica of Rafalski.

Bieska is all right but come on you have to admit he did not look that great in the cup final at all. And I honestly have no idea what you were watching when Ehrhoff played, is it because his plus/minus was goodin the season?
