Anyone think Darcy trades him?? I honestly can see it because MAG looked pretty good last year and I think Weber could be sitting out a lot this season with an already loaded blue.

Thoughts??

No. MAG actually has struggled a bit the two pre-season games. That doesn't mean a whole lot, but regardless Weber is a Regehr prototype, still on a entry level contract, and played very well down the stretch and into the playoffs. Trading him doesn't help the salary cap problem anyway, ditching Morrisonn does, and Weber has played better than him.

Pretty much what SF1980 said.

MAG is being anointed as the second coming based on one playoff series. He needs work.

People are quick to forget that Chris Butler looked great on his first real callup too, then proceeded to lick donkey nuts the entire next season.

Yeah, I don't really see that either. Plus, I think since the '06 playoffs Regier & Co. are terrified of not having enough viable NHL defensemen ready to play. Weber provides an element this team was lacking (until the acquisition of Regher). Ehrhoff, Sekera, MAG... they've got the offensive defenseman covered. They need the tough, no-nonsense, physical D to clear the front.

I'd keep him, unless it was in a package deal to get a much better player.

We can never have too many talented defenseman on this roster. It's crucial.

I love the way Weber plays, and I think he's going to be a Sabre for a long time.

Depends on the deal. I think they would move him if they could get a better defense man in return, but who is maybe older or more expensive. But they don't have any cap space so I seriously doubt they would find a good deal.
