Personally I have trouble believing that Anaheim, being the 2nd worst offense in the NHL, would want to trade 2 guys who can score. Hell, they only have 6 forwards who can score as it is.

Maybe they are giving up on this season and have decided to rebuild? Even if this were the case, I can't see them sending Cogliano anywhere. He's young, fast and has a reasonable contract. Cogliano would be the exact type of player to have at the core of a rebuilding team.

A source close to the situation tells me a Bobby Ryan trade is imminent. Talks have been ongoing for weeks. I'll have a blog up soon.

They have Getzlaf and Perry. Two of the best offensemen in the NHL, given past seasons...

Yikes, looks like Toronto might be the biggest team in this.

@NYP_Brooksie My information is if Bobby Ryan is traded tonight he's not coming to New York.

The plot thickens!
I think Toronto is still the front the runner.

I saw that on Twitter, but I could have sworn it was a joke.

And you know this how?

On another note if Bobby Ryan does end up elsewhere it will be with the Leafs... Given the players that Leafs are willing to give up for a struggling forward but still with tremendous upside. Just not sure I want to lose the whole future on one player. Stafford paired with Ennis, Sekera and or a pick that'd be alright...

Here is another thing to consider, was even being involved in a trade a way to shake up those underachieving forwards/defenders? Stafford, Leino, Boyes (although injured), Gerbe, Ennis (although injured) are all underachieving this year, not to mention no shows from Myers and a few others.

Think of it this way, Darcy never publicly announces he's talking trades, and nobody knows what he's doing 99% of the time. (We can guess, but he'll never admit to anything.) I think this may be a coy way of trying to wake up an underachieving roster. You can say these guys don't listen to media or whatever, but lets face it. They do. That's a fact, living in this city, you're going to hear about this stuff. Hell we have 3 news stations, 1 dedicated sports talk station, thousands of bloggers, tens of thousands on twitter. You're going to hear about all this stuff.

If this was in fact the case I say KUDOS to Darcy Regier, because it sends a much stronger message than a benching, it's either shape up or get the fuck out.

I think he would play there as a center. He's played that position before and it wasn't bad.

Not according to what people say in Anaheim.

Good first post. You get to the point quickly, and you post a link! I'm proud of you.

In all honesty, though, we knew this yesterday when Carlisle was fired and Boudreau was hired.

I can see Roy and Stafford. We ship Gerbe and I may turn in my fan card.
