This is the reason why Darcy should be shit canned. Yes I understand we needed Center help but in a division with Boston who is tough on this team now? What a joke he is as a GM. Sorry but Vancouver won this deal. Plus Hodgsen had an injury that kept him out awhile last year.

If anyone wonders why I don't post much here anymore, read this. It answers all. :)

lol, dude, then how do you deal with any forum anywhere? Or are you saying we've cultivated our very own unique brand of ....this? :)

The only centers who were picked before Hodgson in the 2008 draft were Stamkos and Colin Wilson (for his size more than his skill.)

Well, lets see what Darcy picks up for "toughness" this summer (on the cheap). Oh that's right, Lindy's system has no room for tough players since it's designed to be high scoring offensive team :laughing-rolling: Sorry, that makes me laugh everytime I hear it

You guys are joking, right? Darcy might have just pulled off the steal of the century with this one.

As a 3rd line center behind Henrik Sedin and Ryan Kesler, logging 12 minutes a night, had 33 points in 63 games. We found the center we needed. Hodgson is going to be good.

He was the 10th overall pick in 2008, two ahead of Tyler Myers. Rookie in Vancouver this year.

Glad he's gone. At least now him and Kassian have a chance to flourish. I'm a little amazed that people are happy Kassian is gone. Yeah he may not have been a high scoring forward but he can drive into the zone after dumping it, get the puck int he corner and hold of the defenders until a scorer shows up. I really have a hard time swallowing this right now. This Hodgson better be as high scoring you all think he will EVENTUALLY be....So how long does he need to stew in Rochester before we see this offensive powerhouse playing with the big boys??

Lindy fears tough players. even Leopold can destroy him.

I'm always hearing that Darcy overvalues his players, but reading this thread, it seems like everyone is overvaluing Kassian just because of his potential, and because you like him. That's exactly what you're always criticizing Darcy for.

You got this backwards. Hodgson is producing well(Calder candidate) with limited ice-time behind good centers, and Kassian is the guy stewing in the AHL.

Hodgson has a serious set of hands; and can perform highlite moves. He's also a smaller center.

Kassian appeared uninterested at time s here. Was it him being told to cool it; or was he just not that enthusiastic?

Time will tell. However; Roy, Hodgson, and Tyler Ennis make us small up the middle. Adam is bigger; but often doesn't play big.

If Hodgson can utilize his wingers though; he can't help but help.

For a guy who's a rookie of the year candidate? Yes. Maybe the steal of the century. I am not joking.

Seriously though, I was so excited for Kassian. Like what was said above, toughness is easy to get, but toughness AND skills are rare. I almost cried when I heard Zack's name on TSN...but Hodgson is really good. I hope he pans out for us. If he sucks under us....it's not Darcy's fault, it's Lindy's. Lol

Ok, my bad. I haven't kepted up with the West all that much. So this guy will be a massive goal scoring sensation for this team now that he's away from the Sedins....at least that's what I getting from some of the previous posts

I don't think he's the steal of the century, but yeah, he's better offensively than Kassian and we got a skilled center, which we needed. I like this trade. Especially getting rid of Gragnani. We're planning for the future.
