Pegula do something about this. Getting pretty pathetic.

A 1st, a 2nd, and two prospect is more than what was given for Iginla. Come on now, this was a good trade.

1st and 2nd is nice but these prospects are nobodies.

do your homework on larsson and hackett. they arnt nobodies.

Looked the two up thoroughly and nothing eye popping but as you said they aren't nobodies. They have potential to be good. But anyways settle the fuck down.

You saying they are nobodies is why I and others don't take anything you say hockey related serious.

They are really nobodies until they prove themselves. You can say I don't know shit in hockey but until they hit the big time, full time and make a difference then they are nobodies. I love how people get so excited over prospects. They usually take several years to hit the big time (if they ever do) and then it's still a crap shoot if they do well. Everyone was all gaga over Gerbe when he was a prospect and did great at Boston College.... Well he's a total flop in the NHL.

Don't get me wrong, its great to see whats in the pipeline....but don't ridicule someone because they may not know EVERY FUCKING PROSPECT out there. Since 3/4 of them will never see the light of day in the NHL.

Looking at the comments on TSN, I'm not sure that Hackett and Larsson are "scrubs". Wild fans are saying they gave away too much. Remember that Hackett is 23, which is a baby in goalie terms, and Larsson plaed in the World Juniors (and won gold as captain) last year. Just because you've never heard of someone doesn't mean they're no good.

Anyone else think that the fact they just picked up a young goalie might mean the trading of star Buffalo players might not be over?

My opinion is.... They will attempt to resign Miller and Vanek next season. Both players will see that the team will not be a cup contender for a few more seasons and delay until the trade deadline. At that point Darcy will have his hands tied and will be forced to trade one, or even both. That is if Darcy doesn't do anything significant over the summer with free agents.

It's not that we're ridiculing him for not know everything that's out there, but it's a constant thing that he spews shit he has no idea what he's talking about with. Don't say anything if you don't know. There's plenty of different ways to read up on prospects, whether that be by reading what's going on AHL, CHL, prospects websites, etc. Hell, you can even ask people here, who are generally knowledgeable with what's going on in lower levels of hockey that would be relevant information.

I think his overall point, which I agree with, is that prospects are nobodies. There are prospects right out of the gates that are better than others but all in all it is a giant crap shoot. How many "top" prospects shit the bed at the NHL level while at the same time how many guys that fly completely under the radar end up making it "out of the blue". I think the gamble factor plays into think of these guys as nobodies. Just a different of looking at the situation guys.

Oh sure, absolutely, but to just be pissed about the trade, come out and say we traded for nobodies... Come on. Think better than that.

If it wasn't a regular occurrence, I'd lighten up, but this is constant.

It's not just that man, but you throw random things out, like so-and-so from the AHL is ready, when really, that so-and-so isn't ready, like Brayden McNabb. I remember that thread.

I get it, you know hockey, but sometimes you throw some puzzling things out, that's all.

Edit: Also, I'm going to lighten up, because quite frankly, I'm not being all too hard on you.

I believe you are right. I think Vanek basically said he won't be returning if its more than a year long rebuild. Rebuilds usually take a couple years. Unless you really get the team gelled together like those Candiens are. And Miller looks pretty pissed off in his pos game interviews, I bet he leaves via free agency.

If we win a top 3 pick I think we have a good shot at being a playoff contender with of course vanek and miller being in the blue and gold. free agency is pretty thin now that getzlaf and perry are off the table so anything significant will have to happoen through trade.

That's understandable. I didn't hear about the trade until the dust had settled and so I was able to see all the details from the start. Had I heard only about the players, who I wasn't familiar with either, I could have gone off the handle too.

wild fans are very disappointed that hackett was moved. many felt he was the successor to backstrom in minny, and backstrom is VERY VERY underrated. hackett may make miller or enroth expendable. miller more so if a complete rebuild is in order.

in short, im VERY excited about hackett.

dude. kipper spec gloves are SWEET. see, they reduced the radius of the gloves after the lockout, so kipper made the cuff box small, so the actually catching glove stayed the same. so, he found a loophole.

im seriously going to try to get a job with a total goalie store if one opens in grand rapids.

my new glove isnt quite a kipper spec, but its VERY close. the only thing that sucks is the pocket is shallow. i like DEEP pockets. +1 if i can. any more goalie equipment related questions? i can go ALL day.

Nope, I tried goalie once, never again. I'll stick to being a skater. Bauer gear all day for me.

i dont really care for bauer, but their new reactor line is beautiful. i might get a bauer foam core stick. i also have bauer cowlings on my graf skates. graf cowlings are shorter and heavier.

Well Bauer for a skater is much different then goalie anyways. There is a reason 70% of the NHL skates in Bauer skates and 30% of them use their sticks.

most goalies use a graf boot and bauer one60 cowling. thats my set up too. bauer cowlings have a good attack radius. grafs dont. i also use a bauer chesty because my dad knew i needed a chesty really bad and he got one for me. my dads cool. he knew i wanted a passau but couldnt afford one.

the stafford trade thread was closed, BUT i did see this yesterday on the ole twitters. when the washington trade rumors were swirling, at one point, supposedly, an ESPN outlet reported that miller and stafford were heading to washington for.... wait for it..... number 8. immediately, i yelled out "BULLSHIT" but supposedly, that was out there for a hot minute. but no one else really picked up on it, so who knows.

but i certainly thought washington had picked up staff, and maybe even miller.
