Paul Hamilton Reporting - http://www.wgr550.com - story under lines are taking shape
Buffalo, NY (WGR 500) -- The Sabres had two groups on the practice ice, but it looks like the lines are coming together. Tim Connolly is centering Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville, Derek Roy is between Clarke MacArthur and Drew Stafford, Paul Gaustad heads up a checking line with Jochen Hecht and Mike Grier. Matt Ellis centers Dan Paille and Pat Kaleta. Another line has Tim Kennedy between Nathan Gerbe and Cody McCormick.

Ruff said Kennedy, Gerbe and Tyler Myers will play at least four of the six preseason games. Ryan Miller starts tomorrow in Detroit. Ruff said his number one goalie will get at least three full games.

Sabres' Kennedy returning to second home

"Ryan Miller will make his preseason debut tonight in his home state by playing the full 60 minutes in goal as the Buffalo Sabres meet the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena (7 p.m., Radio 550 AM). But while Miller will just be fine-tuning for the regular season, this is far more than a mere exhibition for center Tim Kennedy.

You know Kennedy as the pride of South Buffalo trying to make his hometown team after leading American Hockey League rookies in scoring last year for the Portland Pirates. But in Michigan, Kennedy is big time after leading Michigan State to the NCAA championship in 2007. And he played plenty of regular-season and postseason games in his career in the Joe."

I'll be at a wedding tonight...so I'll be missing this one. I'm going to have to find somebody that will keep me updated via text!

That was weird. Like they disabled embedding or something. I changed it to the plain old WGR site.
People will need it for the audio stream anyway...

Ponders why the original link didn't work

I'm very much looking forward to this game.

I LOVE McCormick, I would much rather see him make the roster than Ellis. He skated a lot of minutes (for an enforcer) in the first preseason game, and must have had 5 or 7 hits.

I am very ok with the lines right now. I like that Mac Roy Staff line, and Pomminville with Vanek and Connolly looks like a real number 1 line. Grier Goose Hecht is a responsible, and sensible option for the 3rd line; so no complaints here.

I like the look of those first two lines a lot, especially if Pominville can bounce back and MacArthur can step it up.

Looks like there's an online stream or two for tonight too...look over at MyP2P. ;)

Although I'll be watching UB Football, I'll casually glance at the Sabres.

Yeah, I read that Fox Sports Detroit will be carrying the game, so there should be online feeds of it. But I won't be able to watch it anyways, but it'll be nice for everyone else...

My mom was reading the paper and was like, "Wow, you're actually going to miss the Sabres game tonight to be at the wedding?" Hey, it's only preseason, so I'll let it slide. But if it was regular season...

Doubt it...Fox Sports Detroit is a RSN for the Detroit market...not available in ours. Only way to get it would be Center Ice...which isn't on yet. If you have Dish (Direct might have this pack too, not sure) they have a package that will give you RSN's from all around the country, however, I'll bet that they black it out for our market.

Those lines look solid, and I'm glad Miller is playing the whole game tonight. I would assume tonight is one of Myers' games to play. I hope so - I want to see him against a team like Detroit and gauge his play from there.
