Get off the schneid, at least for a game. They looked real good, tonight. Dominated about 50 minutes of that one, but Karlsson kept them close in a game where they didn't deserve it. Stafford and Boyes looked awesome. Leino, Sekera, Van-Poms-Adam, Myers, Gerbe and Enroth were all very good. Tropp did not look out of place.

I think Boyes game in general has picked up since they put him on the PP. Even at even strength he's generating lots more chances now, and he's usually playing with muckers and grinders. That's been a good move by Lindy. Now they just need to get the goalie situation sorted out, and Leino in stride consistently.

There was one play that had me actually commenting out loud... by myself. Leino was streaking down the left wing into the O-zone with the puck on a rush. The Calgary D was back with enough speed that Leino wasn't going to be able to cut to the net. So he pulled that spin-o-rama move that I'm kinda "meh" about. But here's the thing I found clever. He pulls that shit a lot, but this time, he spun back, but continued to spin and backhand the puck towards the front of the net. He fooled the shit out of me, and the Calgary player too. Unfortunately his aim was off by a few feet so nothing resulted, but still, a smart play. I think that's the kind of thing we can expect from Ville when he's playing confident.
