HATTRICK VANEK.

And that is also Vanek's second 5 point game THIS SEASON!!!

He now leads the NHL in points at 15 in only 6 games from him.

I know Pommers probably would of scored had he passed, but being greedy for a hattrick goal, I would feel ok with that if I was Pommers.

Pommers should have dropped it to Vanek so he could have gotten a 6th point for a career high points in a game.

11 points by the top line tonight. 5 from Vanek, 3 from Pominville, and 3 from Hodgson.

One word...

LAZY!

Millsie played his balls off, too. Enzo is learning what giving 100% every shift is like. Like Roysie USED to understand, and Otter does undestand.

Because, Vanek, Hodgson, Pommers, Ennis, Foligno, really played lazy.

I really don't think the team played lazy at all, it's just our inability to clear our Zone which really hurts us.

How many of you listened to the NESN crew?

Will someone PLEASE tell me what is so bad about Edwards & Brickley? They are fair in their assessments, make valid points pretty much all the time, and are pretty entertaining. Yeah, they are homers, but all local crews are. These guys are GOOD at what they do.

Thankfully I didn't. Got Buffalo's feed since I have Gamecenter.

My thing I remember is they are very homerish and would applaud dirty hits by the Bruins and cry when they are clean fair hits received.

Andy Brickley is a great announcer. I really do like that guy and always have. It's Edwards who is the complete dipshit. Granted, he wasn't at his worst tonight, but I think that's just because we were better. When Boston is winning, Edwards is intolerable.

They're homers to the point of being absurd.
They didn't get objective until 1/2 way through the 3rd period yesterday. At one point in the first period my wife told me to stop complaining about them or put the TV on mute.

I listen (as I assume you do) to a lot of out of town feeds, and they're by far the worst homers in the league.

They started off with "Replacing anyone on our roster with Scott would instantly hurt our team. That is how bad he is." and just kept fucking going. There is commenting and then there is masturbation. Edwards and Brickley are a couple of chronic Dutch Ruddering mother fuckers.

They started off saying that Buffalo always had a transition-based game between lockouts and that they get the D involved (true). Then they went on to talk about how Buffalo is trying to imitate Boston in their toughness (true). Then Edwards spent half the game talking about what an offensive force Vanek is (also true).

Maybe it's you guys that are such homers you can't be fair about your assessment of others homerdom.

Oh, BTW, what did all of you say about Scott when Buffalo signed him. Everyone was all "This is great, he'll pommel Lucic!"

That IS why they got Scott. They're right.

edit: And the announcers also end the Scott discussion by saying "well, I guess that's his job and you have to respect that". What is so wrong with that? Are you guys so sensitive that you can't take a little dose of the truth?

Loved how after the fight, Big John looked at the B's bench and said, "That's one". Also, Marchand was forced to be honest with his play last night and wasn't running around like an idiot stick, as per usual.

Anyone listen to WGR this morning? They had some clips of some Boston radio station and they were saying how the Bruins will respond to Lindy putting Big John out again after the time out, in the next game. Uh, yeah; because Fat Bastard didn't put out his goon at the end of the game. There's nothing to respond to. They put out a knuckle dragger first. Why would we leave the skilled guys on the ice?

Overall, it's only one game. I'm glad we picked up the 2 points but they need to get ready for Montreal tomorrow and not look beyond the games between now and the 10th of Feb when we play them again in Buffalo.

I'm a fan of a team...it's my job to be a homer.
It's their job to call the game.

I don't see where you're coming from. Like I said I listen to many other broadcast teams...I fully accept and expect some homerism from all of them.
The NESN crew takes it to another level, and I'm not just talking about last night.

We're all fans of the Sabres. That includes Buffalo's announcing team. Have you ever really stopped to think how an RJ call of a goal might sound to another team's fan? Or the way that he calls a play when he thinks there should have been a penalty aganst the other team and says "NO PENALTY CALLED!"?

What makes the Boston crew so different and so much worse? I just think that, for a game where we have to regularly listen to the likes of Doc Emerick, Pierre McGuire, Joe Micholetti, etc., that Edwards and Brickley are a welcome alternative to most of the non-Sabres announcing crews.

I actually think RJ is far more fair on an average night. He gets pretty darn excited when the opposing team scores most of the time.

I listen to a lot of other guys. Emeric and McGuire don't raise my ire unless Crosby is on the ice...go ahead and take a poll and I bet you'll find a lot of people agree with me about NESN.
