After spanking the Pens and trading their captain, the Sabres head into tonight's game against the Sens scratching for points with a new associate in the leadership group with Steve Ott. Which reminds me; at some point today, I'll need to make an "A" to stitch on that jersey before game time.

Vanek is a possibility for tonight, Leino is looking more long-term. No idea who gets the crease yet but we'll likely see #30.

More updates later this morning. But for now;

I'm hoping we see more Enroth, simply because it's not high priority win anymore.

Miller leaves the scrum to do stretching, looks like he'll go tonight.

Vanek on ice but not doing any work with the lines so his status is still up in the air.

Edit: RR confirms, Van will not go tonight.

This is just an odd situation with him...it seems he's been a game day decision for a week and a half.

I thought maybe he wasn't being played for other reasons leading up to the trade deadline, but that's obviously not the case.

I'm sort of giving a fuck. I'm interested to see how they play from here. Mostly rookies.

The false hope train departs tonight, I say!

Pretty much this.

If the looming deadline was causing these guys to play with too much pressure, well that's obviously over so they should be able to get back to just playing hockey and not worrying about anything else.

Shitty they had to use some of their recalls to send 3 guys down (on paper, at least) and bring them back just so they'd be able to play for the Amerks in their playoff when our season is over. Pretty much a move to qualify them for the AHL post season. I'd really like to see some of the other guys put in for a game or two down the stretch but, whatever.

I'm also sort of giving a fuck because there is just nothing else to do on Sabres game nights as of late.

As much as I loved the effort tonight, we need to cut the parade to the box. I really liked the energy in the legs of the boys, thought as a team they played a pretty solid game.

Enjoy it for now, put it behind, and get ready for the next one.

Pysyk and Pardy are pretty good defensemen.

Truly, I think all this team needs is a few trades to trim the fat and bring in the big named, skilled guys and a smart draft...

You guys, since Pardy came back into the linup we have won the past two games.

6-0-1 with Pardy in the lineup still.
