I am so conflicted about these games right now. 4 points out with 9 games left (all in conference) is certainly a situation where a team can get into the playoffs. As long as there's a chance, I just can't not root for the Sabres. But let's be honest here, if the Sabres sneak into 8th, what's gonna happen against Pittsburgh other than a slaughter? And the top of this year's draft looks really good (not just talking about my mancrush Seth Jones here either), so there is a real bonus to losing IMO. But they are now closer to 8th than 15th, and 15th in the West is three points behind 15th in the east.

Anyone else get the feeling that the result of the season will be the worst possible outcome, with no playoffs and maybe not even a top 10 draft pick to boot?

Sabres roll into the 'Peg hoping to snatch 2 points in what is sure to be a loud MTS Center. RR hinted this morning we may have seen the last of Leino this season. Pretty sure that was a gimme, but whatever. RR also said Vanek would take the morning skate and would see how it feels and go from there. More news at 2:59:01

Dammit, if tonights game is on that blasted NBCsports channel that is NOT included in my directv package but also NOT shown via center ice as the last 4 out of 5 games has been, I AM GOING TO START LOSING MY SHIT! Ahem.

Not trying their best is not good for the team as a whole. If folks think the Sabres already are lacking in heart, but then WANT them to tank, what sort of message are they sending? I would rather have them try their best & fail than stop trying.

As much as I say I would like them to tank it and get a good draft pick I actually want them to make the playoffs. Nothing beats being able to watch your team in the playoffs. Stanley Cup playoffs are by far the best post season offering the sports world has to offer. Plus winning after you shipped some players, notably the captain, and still had the cajones to get yourself into the postseason is huge. That is a huge shot of confidence to the young guys going into next season.

Ahem. It's even more worser than that. I have that NBC channel, but they are showing the Wild game at 8, not ours. Don't worry. Apparently, we can watch our game on CenterIce...at 11:30. My grandmother used to live in Winnipeg, and she would send me VCR tapes of Jets games back in the 80's. That's what this reminds me of.
