In finding out that Phaneuf will be awarded the captainship in Toronto, Howard Berger also found out that the Leafs have altered their uniforms for the upcoming season. Based on the details revealed by Berger, the guys at Leafs HQ put together mock-ups of the jerseys (including the unchanged third jersey)



These new jerseys will supposedly be revealed on June 15th during the ceremony in which Phaneuf is named captain.

They added the classic 35-point leaf to the shoulder, but without the word mark within. They also added laces, apparently, but the guy who threw these together didn't include them.

what do you mean? the idea behind the EDGE was to take the horizontal appearance of jerseys out, make them more vertical, thus, faster and more "modern"

all it did was take the originality out of jerseys.

No, idea behind the Reebok EDGE was to make the shapes of the jerseys more form fitting and to construct them out of anti-moisture material, leading to faster play. The by-product of that was them saying that horizontal designs wouldn't work.

The jerseys are still the same cut, but the designs thems are giving Reebok the big F-U

well, i was talking about the templates. i know its still an edge jersey, but not by appearance.

however, the edge jersey its self is alot different then when it first came out.

They're quite nice, but best still goes to the Habs in my book.

The Habs are definitely up there, too. Top five are either Leafs uni, either Habs uni, the white Blackhawks jersey, either Bruins uni, and either Sharks uni.

To clear up the EDGE argument, the cut is the same, the material is just back to the old air knit stuff that Reebok was using before, though.

I still think our current 3rds... the classic logo with the navy blue instead of royal... are the best looking jerseys in the league.
