Seen it the other day so figured I'd post..

The RCMP have made the first save for the Winnipeg Jets.

Federal RCMP officers and Canada border services agents have seized a shipment of counterfeit Winnipeg Jets jerseys.

Forty jerseys, complete with the new logo and shoulder flashes were seized estimated to be worth approximately $12,000, police said Wednesday.

RCMP are cautioning the public to make sure they are purchasing their team products through authorized dealers.

Police are considering laying charges under the Copyright Act and the Trademark and Textile act.

Even though they're knockoffs, damn those aren't bad at all! I can admit to buying a few frauds in my day, but I can justify them with the authentic ones I've also purchased. Might be a little harder for the cops/customs to nail someone if they are buying in small numbers, but is it any wonder this ring was busted?

40 jerseys, worth $12,000? So each FAKE jersey is worth $300? I gotta get me some fake jerseys, Canadians will apparently pay 200% of market value for them. Plus the Canadian dollar is worth more than the US dollar, so it's a win, win situation!

Another shipment of Winnipeg frauds was nailed by the RCMP recently.

Quote:
RCMP and Canadian Border Services Agency officials seized 190 counterfeit jerseys destined for locations in Winnipeg on Sept. 29.

Police say the fake jerseys were manufactured in China and shipped to Winnipeg where the shipment was seized.

The retail value is estimated to be more than $76,000.
