Besides it being tweeted by Greg Wyshynski, no.

I don't see why someone would take the time to fake an irrelevant artifact of the past though.

I kind of like the ones that were in the bottom right corner.

They are. HF Boards has the original source (which isn't this link), but the designer who actually worked on them showed them.

I'll see if I can track down the link later.

Good lord those are horrifying....

There is only one good one on there I see, and its the one that is in the group at the top right, and it is the bottom right one, if they made that all one color instead of two I could see that being good. The rest are terrible.

The original thread on this:

http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/863 ... tual-work/

An interesting note.

So..... a professional sports team had a rookie designer working on their primary symbol ...... That's smart.

Wow, that is a really interesting thread. Great being able to hear the thoughts of the dude who created the buffaslug, and man he has a great attitude about it too. Good find Tom.

Tommy G and Larry must have been trying their hardest to save a dollar or something... That is the only reason I can think of for hiring a rookie....

Everyone was a rookie at some point and i would assume that in the guys past work (school or professional) they saw something they liked. The fact that he was a rookie probably did help on the cost.

The way these things work is the designer will do a bunch of rough designs and take them to the team. team picks the ones they like and the guy starts refining the ideas and submits them again. this process will keep going until they the team give the go ahead of the final design. so while the guy being a rookie looks kind of bad, its still tommy and larry that gave the approvals

Woz,

It just looks like the guy didnt try since all the sketches that he presented here are pretty much the exact same thing. Its like his mind was stuck on that design hard core.

I'm all in favor of Special Needs people being allowed to work. In this case though; it was unwise to do so. This guy produces pure shit. He wasn't suddenly going to come up with a Picasso out of the shit he produced.

The only act of stupidity worse than the choice of artist was the decision to actually approve anything he did.

Absolute fucking crap. And in saying that I may be unfairly maligning shit; the slug was beyond pathetic.

Thank god an embarrassing era in Buffalo sports has passed. It should have been fittingly passed before it ever saw the lite of day...
