Minnesota is usually pretty shrewd in their dealings, and after all the Rags gotta try to keep up with the Isles. It's going to take a lot to trump that DiPietro deal, but they are trying!

I hope he gets healthy soon, hate to see players careers shortened by injuries.

Awww that's a shame. And here Mach 9 was defending Gaborik like it was his job that he wasn't injury prone. Give me a break Mach!

Excellent. I want the Rangers to falter so badly that Sather gets fired.

I hate Glen Sather.

I guess Drury wasn't the knight in shining armour Sather was hoping for.

Right??

Just because you pay someone superstar money doesn't mean he'll play like a superstar.

Sather is an idiot. He's made out to be somebody who knows about hockey, but he makes poor move after poor move after poor move for the Rangers.

That guy doesn't know shit.

i dont know, i think sather knows hockey, but he seems to enjoy those "high risk! high reward!" type thinking.

You're almost proving my point for me Irony.

Let me ask you this; when have you ever seen Sather make an intuitive trade or pick up? When has he pulled the trigger on a trade that's made him look like a god?

He doesn't. He doesn't do anything that requires any mental capacity. He just throws huge money at guys who are making headlines as free agents on ESPN, and hopes for the best.

That's what you saw when he picked up Drury and Gomez, and paid them each ridiculous sums of money, only to have a team that couldn't buy a goal.

This year, he moved away one and brought in what everyone thought was the most talented free agent on the market, and neglecting the guys injury problems, gave him a huge pay day with a huge term.

Trust me, there's nothing smart about the ways of Glen Sather. He's a spotlight monger who hypes his team up through big signings and high risk moves that will never pay off.

Sather lives in the "fishbowl" of the Big Apple - He pulls ultramegaspectacular trades and signings, because the fans in NYC need to see marquee players in town.

Win or lose, it's simply about filling the seats, in a city which has far too many seats to fill (among all the sports, entertainment, culture and other diversions...)

He almost has to be like P.T.Barnum, to sell the Rangers. He needs to establish the need, among a captive audience. And that doesn't necessarily make for "good" Hockey decisions.

It makes for great "hoopla", though.

I wouldn't be surprised if half the Rangers base doesn't even know who Gaborik is

Well at least it's not an injury related to the chronic injuries he's had over the past few seasons. Oh wait; nevermind.............
