Courtesy of CBC.ca:  Hedican to retire after 17 NHL seasons "Bret Hedican, who played in more than 1,000 NHL games and was on the Stanley Cup-winning Carolina Hurricanes in 2006, will announce his retirement on Wednesday. The 39-year-old defenceman also suited up for St. Louis, Vancouver, Florida and Anaheim during his 17 NHL seasons. Last season with the Ducks, he played 51 games, recording six points." |

With the condition of his knees, it's a bit surprising Mr. Yamaguchi lasted as long as he did. Great skater.... |
