Courtesy Of NHL.com & ESPN.com:

Report: Heatley to Sharks in 3-way trade

"According to a report by ESPN's John Buccigross, disgruntled forward Dany Heatley will be traded to the San Jose Sharks in a deal that will send Patrick Marleau to the Los Angeles Kings and Alexander Frolov and Jarret Stoll to the Senators."

...Nothing but denials, from all teams involved. Looks like he's headed west - Everyone's getting a bit tired of the story...Let's hope it's over and done with.

With Marleau only having one more year on his contract this is risky for LA from a player standpoint. Unless of course Frolov is as well after this season. I would think contract extensions are part of the conversation - if they are indeed taking place.

Either that, or LA likes the idea of cap room after Marleau completes this upcoming season...

Heatley far away from us, and with the going-nowhere-recently Sharks - good news and fine with me.

heatley may be the quarter in this quarter for 2 nickles trade, but the very shallow sens getting 2 players for 1 just deepens their roster in a sense now that they will no longer be just a one line club..

The one line is what killed us all the time.

k, its not all about the sabres though. over the course of an 82 game season, a second line that can score will produce more wins. the had no depth really after the first line, and if frolov and stoll come over, that depth will certainly help them. this trade would make them a better team.

I love Frolov, but am not so excited to see him as a Senator. Still, I'd rather have Heatley in the other conference any day. Hope this pans out.

Well I want him far away from the East and our division.

I doubt he'll go anywhere with camps starting tomorrow.

Well there you have it. Glad we don't have to deal with Heatley anymore...

Cheechoo and Michalek? Wasn't Milan Michalek that player who pestered Miller the most during last season's game at HSBC? Either way, GOOD RIDDANCE HEATLEY!

Interesting that Heatley also sited "personal reasons"; as some of us discussed the possibility before, as it sounded odd all along.

While Cheechoo and Michalek are good players; they're not great players. They can't hurt us anymore than Heatley used to.....
