Well they are gonna lose in the playoffs if he joins them, wait, Detroit is a playoff team and can compete in them.

If he does join then holy crap look out for them even more.

Dreger says he's hearing $570K pro-rated to $250K. If it does happen, he'll never clear.

Too many teams with goaltending issues for him to not get claimed.

Stevie Y can nab Nabby and trade Smith for someone...

Tampa probably won't have a shot at him.

Edmonton can use goaltending.

If Nabakov plays for the Wings, will it be for this season only? Eventually, Osgood will retire if he feels it is time to stop, and Jimmy Howard will become the starter.

Jim Howard was the starter last season, and this season. he was sorta a rookie of the year nominee.

If Howard is going to rest for the playoffs, and Osgood is on injured reserve through March, picking up Nabakov short term is a good thing. At least it is not the Sharks, who are having a bad season.

Eh. They would still have 3 goal tenders in Tampa even if they trade Smith off. Nabby (if they pick him up), Roloson and Ellis. I guess they could shove Ellis through waivers to the minors. Doubt anyone would grab him.

Y?

Because Tampa is a top 10 team in the league and he has to go through waivers first.

If he does get claimed, I would bet Detroit trades for him. So we should grab him, and make Detroit trade us for him.

Well 24 hours. Noon tomorrow he may be a Wing, if not, he'll be somewhere.
