at this point, our best chance of making the playoffs are to cheer for the caps to win, and florida to lose out.

Everyone in Buffalo needs to get together and buy Stamkos a beer.

Tomorrow, the Panthers play the Jets and if the Panthers win, they clinch the South East. We're all gonna be Jets fans tomorrow, because if the Cats clinch the division they won't have a single reason to even try and compete with Washington on Thursday other than spite.

That is true, but they will be eying for it I bet.

All I know is we need to win out and hope Washington loses either one or both of their remaining games if we win out.

I'm not getting my hopes up, and i'm not even sure I want to watch the game tomorrow night...

Sabres Win Out:
-need caps to lose one more game (in reg OR OT) with 2 games remaining

Sabres win 2/3
-need caps to lose one of two in Reg and one of two in reg/ot

Sabres win 1/3
-No Playoffs

Caps Win out
-No Playoffs for Sabres

Caps win 1/2
- Sabres need to win 2/3

Caps win 0/2
- Sabres need to win 2/3

The sabres thought the game against washington was huge, Toronto tomorrow is even HUGER!!

Here's where the old division format comes in. If the Caps win out AND Florida collects 1 or 0 points in their last 3 games AND Buffalo wins out, then the Sabres are in. So it's not quite that simple.

The magic number for the Sabres regarding Washington is seven. The total points earned by the Sabres combined with the total points missed by Washington has to add up to seven. Sabres can go 0-0-3 and get in if Washington goes 0-2, hypothetically.

The magic number for somehow passing the Panthers is eleven. Panthers have to miss out on 5 points at least and the Sabres need to pick up all six of their potential points.
