Yep. Although he got away with the one on Seabrook last year because of the mythical 'hitting area' thing. :)

I agree. They need to hammer him. Rest of the playoffs plus 20 games would be awesome, but I doubt they go that hard.

In my opinion, that hit on seabrook was not dirty. That was a hockey play. But he has had many others that were not hockey plays. He is a nice guy that plays balls to the wall but doesn't understand the scott stevens school of impact.

A nice guy does not keep doing this shit. He's proven that he's either legitimately dirty, or legitimately stupid. Either way, he needs to learn a lesson.

I'd put it in the borderline category myself. By itself it's just a hard play, but in context with all his other openly scumbag hits, I guess I tend to lean a little towards the dirty side with that.

I don't really think it was a dirty hit. It's just being scrutinized because he's Raffi Torres. Same would happen if you were Kaleta, Carcillo etc...

uh, what? he left his feet, targeted the head, and arrived LONG after the puck was gone.

25 games. Inconsistent with other incidents, yes, but deserved and hopefully sets a new bar for other players to be aware of.

I don't think it was worse than what Carkner and Weber did. The fact that he can suspend the lessers yet leave Weber alone is... Stupid.

Really, not a bad trade for the Yotes, at all...

25 games is definitely adequate. That's over 25% of his salary.

I personally think 25 was too much. But then again, he injured a star player and was a repeat offender. I probably would have said 10 games to be fair. I just didn't think it was as dirty as people made it out to be.

Google his history. He's a repeat offender, with multiple egregious hits.

I know, I said he was a repeat offender there. Reread it again.

I don't need to re-read anything. Apparently you're incapable of tying the "repeat offender" and "type of hits" together to realize that he's fucking dirty.

I thought with the way suspensions had been doled out, that Torres would get 12 games or something in that range.

He launched himself into the face of an opponent. That's dirty.

When you leave your feet, you get the book thrown at you. Period. He's a now 6 time repeat offender. 25 games was the right number.

+1.

What Weber did should've gotten him the same number. Carkner maybe 10 or something.

And this is the reason why I said reread it again, because I guess saying repeat offender he got what he deserved. I guess saying that isn't tying it together in your book.

I didn't think this hit was dirty, but I haven't watched it again since it's happened though.

If he launched himself then it is surely dirty, and I agree with it. When I first posted I didn't think he left his feet before contact.

You can't even be bothered to look at a 30 second video before you post an opinion?
