It was to be expected. That's just a smidge over 6 a year. Actually a very good cap hit for a D-Man that moves the puck like him. And can play a bit of actual defense.

not surprised. he is a franchise player for the Caps and does well when he isn't broken. Sadly, they are gambling that he won't get broken again. He seems to be another Tim Connolly recently

I like the length of the deal however. If he can stay healthy for most of this contract, he'll get a nice mega deal. Depending on the CBA negotiations of course
