I'm glad that there will be a season but this farce of a lockout has left a bad taste. The fact that Bettman, Daly and the Fehr brothers still have jobs and will probably sell the end of the lockout as their success bothers me.

We'll see poor hockey because most players are rusty and will get tired soon with a condensed schedule. NHL/Players still gonna make a lot of money because people forget fast.

...and after looking at the Sabres roster I'm not as glad anymore. Doesn't look exciting.

I'm stoked the game is back and I'm a fan of the 10 year CBA length (with an out at 8 years) because we don't need this shit again any time soon.

Looks like I'll have to pony up for center ice...it's not like I have a choice really, but there better be a steep discount.

I'm mostly glad we've got a season because I've got an 18 month old boy who now gets all excited when football is on TV but really hasn't had a taste of hockey...he's pretty impressionable right now so I need to start the brainwashing ;)

Oh I'm very much looking forward to seeing what Steve Ott can do in the blue and gold...

I haven't seen enough of him, but as a 3rd line center I don't expect him to do much damage. My biggest concerns are our inexperienced top centers and our lack of scoring potential.

BTW, does anyone know if Myers, Ennis and Gerbe are healthy again?

ya, but next years looks juicy:

Forwards: Vanek, Pominville, Hodgson, Stafford, Ennis, Foligno, Ott, Leino, Gerbe, Kaleta, Grigorenko, Armia, Girgensons, Tropp, Adam,

Defense: Myers, Ehrhoff, Sekera, McNabb, Weber, Brennan, McCabe, plus enough cash for 1 FA.

Maybe.

That asterix comes after Buffalo Sabres, I bet you wouldn't mind too much.

And Big John Scott in that first game against the B's. :D

Oh man, I seriously have been getting gitty just thinking about the havoc to be wreaked.

As much as I want to see Lucic getting beat up (I don't think it would happen anyway), I hope John Scott won't be in the line-up taking away a roster spot from a guy who actually can play hockey.

I've heard anywhere between the 15th and the 19th depending on if the schedule is 48 or 50 games.

I read an article a bit ago that it's 50 games starting on the 19th.

man...I want to see this schedule. Less travel, but what a grind.

(I'll also add I'm pissed I don't get my 1 game this year...the original schedule had Sabres/Ducks in Anaheim I believe)
