For some perspective on why I'd bust a nut for Jon Gibson:

He's 19 and just finished 2nd in save percentage (behind Enroth, who was .956 and a 1.15 GAA with 2 shutouts in the worlds) with a .951 and a 1.56 GAA with 1 shutout. He also was the US starting goalie for their gold-medal winning WJC team.

Edit: I know, small sample size, but at 19-years old playing with a few pros, that's really freaking good, I think.

I went half chub on those stats. I just feel as though a full changing of the guard will do this team some good.

Why would Anaheim trade for Miller if they have an abundance of goalies (Hiller, Fasth, Gibson)?

But I would nutter butter if we traded for Gibson... The talent pool would be amazing, Enroth, Hackett, Gibson, Makarov... Sploodge.

hiller is streaky and hasnt done much for them in the post season. fasth is 30, and could be a one hit wonder. gibson is 4 years away from contributing at an NHL level.

id let them keep gibson if buffalo drafted fucale...

Grab Gibson and draft fucale. To much of a good thing is never a bad thing. We need to build serious depth in the minors if we are going to be competitive for some prolonged period of time. I want to do this right. Do not rush this and make some short term answer for what we know needs a long term solution. Do it right otherwise it will not get done. Draft smart, trade smart, bring players up in their due course. Trying to appease the fanbase isn't going to work here. We are all fairly smart here and know that making big moves by trading away some or most of the remaining core is for the betterment of this franchises future.

Considering this is a topic about Sweden defeating Canada in IIHF, please try to keep to that.

All conversation stemmed from the original topic. The whole 6 degrees of seperation...ya kna i mean? And to be honest it was keeping the thread alive and it was all harmless banter. I rather doubt anyone was overtly offended...unless maybe you are Paulina Gretzky. In which case I will still give you my seed despite the alleged herp a derp.

In retrospect, with respect to the women that post here, I'd say keep it a little respectful.

i dont like that idea for one reason. say the sabres draft fucale. they can move miller (should they choose to) for a d-man, or center. or another asset. i love goalies. the sabres bringing in hackett means they have another younger goalie who will help this franchise, but if they get fucale or gibson, use miller or vanek to get another asset. personally, id trade miller to minnesota for granlund, and then sign backstrom. backstrom is a short term answer in net while fucale (provided the sabres draft him) develops, ect. than ya get granlund, who i like.

Absolutely agree. Send Miller to a team that has a chance, cause Sabres aren't going anywhere for a few years. If they keep him he will be a free agent next year any they will get what they got for Briere and Drury. I think Philly needs a goalie and I bet Snyder would go for it. While they are at it deal Vanek, preferably to Edmonton.
