Wow, I'm shocked. Some Canucks fans will be pissed.

A lot of Canucks fans have fallen back in love with Lu due to @strombone1

Who is that?
I'm wondering how Luongo is feeling about it. He was done with the Canucks and the trade/no trade sharade.

Schneider is supposed to be an elite goalie soon, a good prospect isn't enough for him in my book.

Before this trade, the Canucks were already at the cap, with only 17 players signed. The fact of the matter is that they were going to have to do something(s) they didn't really want to do, in order to be cap compliant. Nobody wants Luongo, and VAN can't really justify having over $9M in cap space for goalies. So, away goes Schneider. The fact that VAN is in such desperate straits, and that everyone knows it, makes it even more difficult for them to get good value. Under the circumstances, I think they did well in this trade. This is not a pat on the back for Gillis, however, because he's the reason they are in this mess in the first place.

@strombone1 is the unconfirmed but pretty much confirmed Twitter account for Roberto Luongo. It may be the most amazing thing ever.

That's awesome. I saw some funny stuff there (picture of Kesler on the toilet)

Yeah, and it's definitely him. All the Canucks follow the account and talk to it.

The Canucks getting Bo Horvat and Hunter Shinkaruk is the biggest steal of the draft. More so than the Canadiens getting Fucale.

Kinda surprised about the trade, but at least New Jersey won't have to wait to develop a replacement for Broduer.

I thought Van would have just bought out Luongo since no one wanted him and keep Schneider.

Me too. Vancouver seems to Philadelphia West in terms of mismanagement of its goalies.

A buy-out would hace cost them a lot and they wouldn't have gotten anything for him. In this case they got a great prospect for Schneider. I can understand the thought process, I'm just surprised they didn't get more for him.
