Darcy is always pricing his top players way too high

I still don't know why the Caps would let Ribeiro walk....

OK, now I'm pissed about this. The Sabres have been in-and-out on Bobby Ryan for who knows how long. I know it's cliched, but come on. DO something, Darcy. This is getting ridiculous. Sign a dude for ridiculous money. Trade for a good player. Trade the good players you have. JUST FUCKING DO SOMETHING.

Rightfully so on Ryan Miller.

And we all know he was going with his young drafted players for next year anyways. What's the point in signing guys who would only take the roster spots of those guys then?

So when does MacArthur play for Boston or Montreal? He's making his rounds around the NorthEast Division.

Minor move, but the organization loses it's first player: Mark Mancari goes to St. Louis. Huge loss for the Amerks.

Brennan is a bud. 1-year, 1-way, $600K.

I'm happy Darcy isn't going out and throwing money at people. What would be the point? We all know this year is going to be a shitshow anyways so we might as well let the rooks run with it and dump our big names at the deadline (when their price will be higher). The only move I would like to see is a seasoned vet or a trade for youth.

This.

Besides, this has to be about the most hum-drum crop of FAs I've ever seen. I mean, David Clarkson and Nathan Horton are the big prizes? Wake me up next July.

Perfect world we'd trade Miller for a decent forward or two. :(

Just took a quick scan of contracts, and next year should be a HUGE one for UFAs. Many of these guys will get extensions of course, but here's a quick list of players entering their last year on their contracts:

Gaborik
Thornton
Miller
Vanek
Marleau
Sedins (*both)
Bergeron
Pavelski
Dustin Brown
Timonen
Bouwmeester
Pominville
Heatley
Kessel
Phaneuf
