Ah, the parade of players leaving have started. Expect more to come in the next year. This is apart of the suffering Darcy spoke about. Welcome to Hockey Hell!

Dude, it's fucking Adam Pardy. We barely played him last year.

He actually played 17 games after RR took over and play a better game than Myers did all season. He is also getting a full time gig with Jets. That kinda says something about how he played for those 17 games.....

We judged MA Gragnani over more than 17 games.

Now he's trash.

Gragnani sucked from the get go. Pardy did better in a shorter time than Grag's did...EVER.

Yes, I realize that. All I said was the parade has started...

Sounds like someone doesn't remember the playoffs ;)

He did well during those playoffs, so did Myers. They both suck now..... Pardy could very well suck ass next season. Don't know and, at this point, don't care. He really isn't worth this long discussion anyway. Wanna beer??? lol

I still think Myers will be fine. I believe Ruff put more pressure on him than needed. Once Rolston got here, he played so much better and not with the chip on his shoulder.

My day... it's ruined.

Edit: In case anybody is wondering, yes. I am dead serious. I love David Leggio.

Well, with Hackett his chances for a starting role in Rochester were slim, but I'm wondering who'll be the second goalie for the Amerks?

Makorov or Knapp will back him up.

Only other goalies signed to contracts so far.

Sky, you made the case in the Sabres Draft thread that we were fine in net, and we didn't need to draft Fucale, and I didn't buy it then, and I don't buy it now.
Well, now Leggio's gone, and not only are we thin in Buffalo in one year or less (with Miller's departure a given), but we're thin in Rochester, also.
Enlighten us. Tell us why we should be happy about our future in net.

Because Leggio was never going to stay, we all knew that. We also have two more goalie prospects either playing overseas or still in the minors.

Miller, if we move him or not we will not be thin at goalie. We have 7 goalies in the system if we trade Miller. But as of right now we have 8 goalies. We have our starter and backup in the NHL in Miller and Enroth, we have our starter and backup in the AHL with Hackett and most likely Makarov. We have Knapp, Ullmark, and Liewen, and our newly drafted Peterson.

How the hell are we thin on goalies?

Ullmark is already playing against men in the SEL and posted up great numbers. Makarov, well we will see how he does next year in the AHL behind Hackett. And Enroth is capable enough right now. Are we going to have Miller-esque numbers from anyone else, who knows. But our future will still lie in Hackett. Most likely we will lose Ullmark and Makarov in the future as they can very well be NHL starters by then.

Then again, when you already have the future of your team drafted or traded for in the system, why waste a high draft pick on a guy you never intend on starting? Especially if you have 6 other guys in the system to evaluate right away and you have much dire needs at other positions to fill in the draft. Fucale won't start on the Canadiens unless something terrible happens to Price, it would be the same story here if we extend Miller, or even our other goalies.

And we can sign goalies at free agency to fill any voids in Rochester, or even to be a back up if we decide to trade Miller

I think you vastly under-rate David Leggio. The guy was team MVP two years in a row and won games despite playing in front of a pretty average to bad team. Sound familiar?

We're definitely not light in net. Sky forgot about Nathan Leiuwen, plus we still have Hackett, Makarov, and Knapp. On top of that, we have Linus Ullmark playing in Europe, and then we drafted a 5th-round goalie, on top of already having both Miller and Enroth. If anything, we're extremely crowded in net.

Evidently part of the reason for this disagreement is the fact that you guys are counting Knapp and Leiuwen. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think they're worth shit.

Let's say Miller lasts all year with us. Then next year it's Enroth and Hackett in the NHL, with very little experience between them. What happens if one of them gets hurt? Then it's either Makarov or the two guys above. Can you really say that any one of those 3 will be ready for the NHL in a year, and keep a straight face? As for Ullmark, is he contractually bound to his SEL team, or does he even want to come over to play in the AHL?

Guys, this is not depth. This a train-wreck getting ready to happen. I wish we had traded our first pick for Schneider instead of NJ. I tell myself that maybe Darcy is doing this on purpose to ensure that we have some bad years (and high draft picks). Since we didn't get Schneider, we should have drafted Fucale at 35. The fact that we have a bright future on D and Forward is all the more reason why we should've drafted him. And no, drafting him would not have helped with our current situation at all. Drafting him would have helped us to make sure we are not in this same mess 5 years or so from now, when Fucale is ready for the NHL.

We have 8 fucking goalies in the system and it isn't depth? That's plenty of depth. Most teams barely have 4-5 goalies in their systems. Get a grip. If Fucale was so good, some team would have taken him in the 1st round. Why wait a round for the "best goalie in the class?" Give it a rest. Fucale wasn't going to save this franchise overnight.

Fucale I don't think would be more ready than Hackett, Enroth, or Makarov at this point.

Definitely not. He still has what, two years of junior eligibility? He's not going to be in the pros right away unless he goes straight to the NHL, which is unheard of for even most 1st round goalies.
