Sorry Ham, I'm borrowing your schtik ;)

I must say I got a 6 pack of this beer for two reasons.
1. My wife loves witbier
2. it won gold at the GABF last year (Great American Beer Festival)

It is an organic beer with many locally (Colorado) sourced ingredients because the folks at New Belgium are a bunch of bike riding, tree hugging hippies. But I'll overlook that fact for now.
This is done in the traditional wit style (unlike popular American rip-offs of the name *cough*Blue Moon*cough*). It's bottle conditioned and the brewery recommends adding the yeast back into suspension for drinking, much like a traditional heffeweizen.

The appearance is cloudy, as would be expected for the style and a very light pale straw color.
The Belgian yeast and coriander dominate the nose which also has a hint of citrus.
It has a beautiful wit taste, with notes of banana, clove and coriander.
It is only hopped barely enough to be in balance with what tastes like a continental noble hop like hallertauer or maybe Czech saaz.

This is one of the best examples I've had of the style, and possibly one of the best that can be had on this side of the pond since light wheat beers don't travel well at all.
If you're into the style, I recommend giving it a try.
