Don, 31, Antigonish, Nova Scotia and I absolutely with every bone in my body hate the fact that Sidney Crosby is from my province.

Besides following the Sabres with my very lovely girlfriend, I’m a huge fan of heavy music, ice cold beer, tattoos, playing hockey/talking hockey/watching hockey/living hockey and in the summer time, I wish for hockey to come back real soon. I enjoy running and look forward to kicking some ass in the marathon MM and I will be taking part in this coming June. Having been to the city of Buffalo a few times I can honestly say that if not for the travel aspect of things, I would be there most times of the year.

Oh, and I wish I had Lindy Ruff's job because I think I could do it better. Obviously the team isn't responding to his ways so why not try something else, eh? ;)

Hey everyone, I'm Will.

Most people probably don't know that since I am usually a quiet one on here and they all usually call me SiDC. I grew up in the Village of Lancaster and moved to the woooooooonderful (sarcasm) world of DC when I was 26. No I'm not in politics and thank god for that. I actually don't live IN the District but in the southern most point of Northern Virginia. One of these days I will organize a MnG down here for all of us in Northern Va  I have been with these bunch of misfits since 2007 :D .

Sabresindc, I think you actually live in the northern most part of southern Virginia. Or maybe the central-most part of central northern Virginia.

Boy I hear you on that. I'm taking five exams this year, I'm planning on starting to study this weekend. :|

Well i was mulling over whether or not this was for all or just the newbies, or probies as we call our rookies at the fire hall, but seeing some of the big posters posting here i figured i'd throw an into out there as well. Well here we go;

First and foremost my name is Jim. most people call me psyches here on the board, but i'm open to either. I currently reside in Pendleton, NY (if yall attend the meet and greet in april you'll be in pendleton). Been there for a while, though it may change in a year or so as i'm currently applying to medical schools. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from Niagara U double minor Pre-med and philosophy, and been working for the town and wegman's of current. I'm currently 23 years of age. I volunteer as a firefighter and EMT. I'll pretty much watch almost every sport. I wish i could run the Bills, as the current owner is senile, i mean come on you need a QB yet have no QB groomer on staff, and you hire rejects from other teams. Of course studying for the MCAT and the medical school application is taking up a good deal of my current life but it's all worth it if i get in.
I guess i should throw in that I actively snowboard (took a trip to Vancouver and Denver over the winter break to board), used to swim collegiately and high school.

Now to ponder some more on whether or not posting the video intro i created for the old boards.

Sure, go ahead. We have enough newbies that they may not have seen it on the old boards

I'm Jeremy; I joined forums.sabres.com in 2008 I think, or maybe 07. Either way, I'm from Lockport, I went to Newfane Schools. I now live in VA, I suppose it's Northern VA (about 45 minutes from DC). I work as a contractor for the Marines through AT&T (no, not cellular service, so I can't help you get a discount). I'm an engineer at an application test lab, and enjoy my job thoroughly. I drink good beers (anything with 'lite or light' in the name can skip the middle man and be poured straight into the toilet), and listen to pretty much any music.

Dude, I don't think you ever elaborated on how you became a Sabres fan. I'd love to hear that story.

Not much of a story Phil. Back in about 91/92 a couple of mates and i were playing NHL on sega mega drive i think and we all selected out teams and mine was the Sabres. I have followed them ever since although it was kinda hard back then to see a hocky game in Aus. I think in the game the Sabres goalie was Grant Fuhr.

Names Arik (pronounced Eric), I'm a senior at Ohio State. Sabres fan because when I first returned to America after living overseas my whole life, my family decided to live in Clarence because that's where my Dad grew up. I went to Clarence Middle School for 3 years before moving out of state.
I am also a HUGE soccer fan, not MLS, but the Premier League. Everton FC!
I enjoy a wide variety of music...ranging from Tchaikovsky to Howlin' Wolf to Supertramp to Thrice to Between the Buried and Me.
I also like to drink and explore abandoned buildings at night.

Antigonish is one of my favorite city names ever. It sounds like such a made up word. Like, it didn't disappear...kinda...It's anti-gone...ish?

I'm really new here--at least to the rest of you--been lurking for YEARS at the old site, watched y'all leave there and start this site and followed your antics here.

I'm Marie, 46--married to a hockey fan (you can thank him for my fan-dom!) and have 2 young adult children still living at home (one in college, the other just graduated).

Started watching hockey the year after the lock out (hubby was going nuts over 'no hockey') and one night we put a game on. He said 'oh, Buffalo, they suck--we can watch them lose'....and I said "but when the puck goes in the net, it's a GOOD thing, right??" (that would have been the 05-06 season)

Found the nhl website, found the sabres forum, thought "I should join"...and listened to the 'bandwagon vs REAL fan' drama...figured "not yet".

But since someone commented recently that the crowd is thinning out here (yes, I listened to that whole Canada vs USA drama too!)--I figure the worst you can do is kick me out....and if y'all drive me nuts, I just won't post!

So--after 5 years (give or take) you now know I exist!!

And I am REALLY computer stupid, so I will probably never get a signature or avatar--'cause I got no idea how to do that!

Well, howdy! After the NHL went crazy with "upgrades" to the old forums for each team is when we all ditched that forsaken place. You'll find no noobs vs. real fans on this forum :)

Things will get heated in pretty much two places - threads in NHL Hockey that pertain to nasty hits, and the politics subforum (tread lightly there, lest you get consumed).

Have fun!
