I'm Nick, and I was a member on here before but I forgot my login info and just made a new account. I live in East Aurora, play hockey, guitar, I skateboard and I'm pretty laid back. I'm a diehard Sabres fan, and though I've been a Kings fan since I was little, I'll never love them as much as the Sabres. I remember a majority of you from the old sabres.com boards, and I'm also a mod on the letsgosabres.com boards, which have pretty much gone to hell. I enjoy these forums much, much more. :D

Post subject:  Re: The Welcome/Introductions Thread

Hm, just discovered this thread.

Whats up y'all (yeah, after 5 years...I use "yall". Oh shut up.)

I didn't FEEL old, until I found out me and squanto are the same age :) (32)

I grew up in Buffalo (well, williamsville at first, then moved to university heights and the elmwood area for about 5 years) I left buffalo at 21, traveled all over the country, had crazy adventures living in the woods growing epic beards, dancing barely clothed with likeminded folks in front of humongous bonfires, taking all sorts of fun liberties with my consciousness, etc etc, before realizing it was time to finish school. I now live in Raleigh NC (and love it, this place is actually awesome) and work at a Biotech company genetically engineering corn.

I love dogs, my 12 yr old great dane died last february, So I went out and got the American Pit Bull Terrier i've always wanted.
I play lots of sports, but was only allowed to play one organized sport as a kid, and my parents kind of pushed me towards soccer. My older brother got to play both soccer AND hockey, and I think my dad just got totally sick of the early morning practices involved in hockey, so, I never got my chance.
I paint, write, ride my bike, hike, grow lots and lots of plants, and walk the dog all over this joint.

And I've started at least twice as many posts as i've actually posted, more than half get cancelled before posting, as they might be inflammatory, taken the wrong way, too verbose, outside my ability to accurately comment on the incident, etc etc. I tend to rub people the wrong way online I think.

Oh yeah, and my name is Jeremy, which I hate. Too vowely.

OK, I'm Stuuuuuu. You don't get my real name, at least not this easily. Compared to most of you I'm ancient at 35-years old. I grew up in Olean, NY, a town so small most of you Western New Yorkers probably don't know about it. That's why I'm a Sabres fan, even though I've lived in Oregon for the last 10 years. I don't post a ton, but I chip in here and there. These days I mainly post in political or philosophical discussions, or for humor. Apparently, I am currently the only person alive who thinks Tyler Myers is too offensive-minded.

Oh, and as voted by Sabres Junkie members, I have the best beard on the forum.

I think this thread warrants a move to the main lounge forum, might get some more exposure there. :)

You are certainly chancellor of the SabresJunkie Committee of Beard, of which I am vice-chancellor.

Also, I'll bet I'm the only person besides you who knows that KA-BAR knives are made in Olean (Yep, I've been to Olean).

Isn't that where St. Bonaventure is? I was sooooo close to going there but then I found out that the program I wanted to get into was just getting off the ground and only had two people in it . . . no thanks. But it has a really nice campus. I'm going to RIT in the fall though. :D

How come I didn't know that HiL is in hilarious . . . I also think everything is hilarious, including you calling me Ms. Not Tall Enough for Tall Pants. hahaha I didn't know this was such a big deal!!

I'm Glenn and while I grew up in Albion and Brockport, I've lived in Florida for the past 30 years. Honestly, I don't know why. I one of the really old guard (I turn 50 in May). I haven't been posting much lately, but that is because I teach five Advanced Placement European history classes and this is a pretty busy time of year as we get closer to the AP test.

I haven't had much time for hockey lately, which works out okay, I guess, since it seems that the Sabres don't either.

Shit dude, I went to Olean all the time because that is where my mom went and got groceries in Allegheny/Olean and such.

Lived about 20 miles in Bradford.

Also, I am getting into hockey, taking a learn to play class, I can play guitar, Stevie Ray Vaughan is my all time favorite guitarist, I met Sc's#1Sabresfan at the last game in Raleigh which was pretty cool.

Post subject:  Re: The Welcome/Introductions Thread

Hi, I'm Billy and I'm 20 years old. Currently I live in the ol' Appalachia of North Carolina. I'm going to school here and studying wildlife biology. I like to wear flannel and Sabres attire. My favorite things besides watching hockey are Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and moshing to metal. I also like to walk through the woods and go on day long adventures.

I was originally from the southern tier of New York (Hornell) until my parents moved to Florida when I was 11. I hated it there... Then last fall I started school up here and absolutely love it, but still plan on moving back up to WNY if the opportunity unfolds itself.

I can grow a beard too, but not as good as Phil's or Stuuu's though. A lot of my friends call me a lumberjack because of my beard and constant wearing of flannel attire.

No offense man, but that was my least favorite class in all of high school. :P

You got it. Bonas is just outside Olean. It is a beautiful campus, but honestly, I think Rochester will be a more exciting environment for you.
