Hey guys, thinking about upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate edition...anybody have Windows 7? What are your guys' thoughts on it? Any decent feedback would be appreciated.

Runs sooooooooo much better hen Vista, you won't regret going to Windows 7, unless you get an illegal copy and run a bootloader since you don't have a serial code it will suck a bit and run shitty.

but I like it much better then Vista, and it really does run a lot less resources then Vista did.

I concur with Skyline. Windows 7, for me at least, healed some of the disdain I felt for Microsoft after Vista.

Don't pick up Ultimate. Waste of money. Take the next one down, that'll be fine.

Cool, I can get windows 7 through school for 12.95; ultimate or professional; so either way it's the same price. Although I dont plan on learning 36 other languages; so I guess pro is the way to go

If you can get ultimate for the same price, go for it...better to have and not need....

Anyways, Windows 7 is teh shit; we're doing a lot of testing on it at work and I've loved pretty much everything about it.

Augh, ya jerk, i've been looking to upgrade my vista laptop, and it looks like i'll have to spent at least 120 for a real copy, and thats just the upgrade, I dont even get an install disk for that price.

I never had problems with Vista ever, but if you've tried 7 over Vista you will like it a LOT more.

I never had problems with it either, I only use my computer for basic computer needs.

And 7 to me runs way better and is better, I mean if it's all legit and all. I've been thinking about going back to Vista just so it is a legit copy and doesn't crash and freeze constantly. But i'm lazy.

From an IT perspective, it was an unmitigated disaster. There's a reason they kept making XP available as a downgrade option for so long.

I couldn't stand vista, it was pretty brutal for me so I can tell you Windows 7 is much better. That being said I still argue that XP was one of the best windows os' to date
