Finally got my iPhone 5 yesterday. (My upgrade date wasnt' on cycle since I had moved from AT&T to Verizon a couple months after I got my 4.)

Super light, almost feels breakable. I tossed a small case on it, that helps it for me.

The headphones that come with it are actually surprisingly good. Comparable to some other high priced ones that I stole from my brother. Have yet to run in them to see if they stay in, but they feel like they would.

Talking shit with Siri is pretty fun.

Maps aren't as bad as the reports said. Maybe they've fixed them up in the last couple months, but seemed ok to me. We'll see when I travel. :)

Verizon LTE is super fast. Got almost 20/10 while driving on the 290.

^ Speaking of talking with Siri, my brother asked his Galaxy S3 to "find me some hookers." It found the 490 Motel, which is this run-down, crappy old motel where you can rent rooms by the hour in Rochester.

LOL.

If I ask Siri to find me hookers and blow, it pulls up escort services in Toronto.

There is a drop test with the Galaxy S3 and the iphone 5 I saw on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M5q5TRuAsY

The I5 didn't break as much as the S3 did.

But my coworker has the I5 and he said it slide off his lap and landed on a bump on concrete and the screen cracked on him badly. But they are very light and fast as far as I can tell.

That's a tablet, not a phone. I don't care what they market it as. :)

Why do people want such big cellphone screens?? They look like mini tablets and the iPhone IMO is the most pocket friendly phone out there right now.

its funny, whenever people see my phone, the first question they ask is "does it fit in your pocket?"

i stand up, and slide the phone into my jean pocket with NO problem. none. and then they go, you cant even tell its in there!

anyways, they are working on a 6.3 inch screen cell, so ive read.

I have a Galaxy S III and it feels smaller in my pocket than my Samsung charge did.
I actually love the large screen, it makes games easier, video more enjoyable and web pages easier to read without zooming.

Yeah isn't it nice that you, as a consumer, can't unlock your own phone but it completely legal for the carrier to do it?

This is because of the screwed up hardware subsidy system we use in the US.
If you get your device at a discount (almost everyone does) for signing a 2 year contract, they simply spread the "savings" out in 2 years of bills.
That's why they won't let you unlock. The carrier has to get their hardware money back out of you before you can go free.

Personally, I'd rather pay full price for hardware and not have to dick around with early termination fees and crap like this.

I read that apple might be releasing three different Phones this year??? One with bigger screen, one cheap one and one that has a variety of colours with the iPhone 5 screen. Just rumors but this intrigues me being an iPhone guy.

But what if I do buy my phone outright (like I just did...)?

I almost picked up a Samsung Express at an ATT store for $100 with a case...but I can't say no to the S3's price at Target.
