yeah the yankees farm is weaksauce. they dont have the prospects to make that kind of deal.

im LOVING teixiera blow balls. dude is hella overrated.

I wouldn't say overrated just too much money for a guy still hitting like shit. I have him on my fantasy team and I am really regretting it now.

Do the Yank even have prospects?

yeah, they do. they got a catching prospect coming up, who should be a great replacement for posada. hes good defensively and hes good with the bat. he should be good.

tex has a great glove and a good bat, but i dont think hes top 5 first basemen in the league.

I don't think Tex is top 5 1st basemen either, I'd say top 10 though for sure

Now the Rays might be added to the Cliff Lee sweepstakes http://twitter.com/pgammo/status/17874551322 I'd believe this because peter gammons is usually always right.

Cliff Lee's days are numbered in Settle. MLB network is saying the M's are starting to get serious with talks on him.

I wonder if Philly is going to get Oswalt, seems to be the big ass rumor out there right now.

you mean his .270 average? ESPN.com had a write up asking what you would play for a 36 year old free agent short stop with great career numbers, but average to slightly below average defensive skills. after writing the article highlighting the career of this player, it was come to that the player should get about.. oh, 7 million. they then said its jeter, and how he will get 17 million.

17 million is cheap for a legend of the game, an ambassador of the sport, and a true American hero. Never was there Jeter, nor will there ever be again. Pay your respect before your time is no longer blessed with his presence.

i dont worship false idols ;) my worship went to griffey, who is the second best player of all time, IMO.

no, hes a damn good player. i dont think he would be nearly as big of a "legend" if he was short stop for say the texas rangers. i do believe the jersey over rates him some. i honestly think hanley rameriz is, and will actually be a better short stop when all is said and done.

but still, hes getting up there in age, and hes not hitting as well. i think hes in decline.

but on the flipside, his natural decline proves he never did any illegal substances, not that i thought he did. just saying.

Now that I'm done messing with Irony, I'll say that my all-time favorite Yankees were (in order of position) Guidry, Righetti, Posada, Randolph, Mattingly, Winfield, and O'Niell. Honorable mention to Rivera, Jeter, Nettles, Henderson.

However, my all-time favorite baseball player, and best role model in the history of professional sports (although I never was able to watch him play) is Lou Gehrig...
