Acoording to my colleague Thurman Thomas, Jason Campbell is not of interest to the Bills. Should The Eagles decide to not stick with Donavan McNabb, he is certainly a possibility to come here to Buffalo.

As well we don't need another bledsoe situation. Mcnabb still looks like he has a few years in him, but if he's on the brink of washed up we don't need that.

While this is true, acquiring a QB allows for a lineman to be selected with our first pick.. And quite possibly, unless a quality linebacker is available, in the second round as well.

I would rather them not take a QB this year in the draft especially with the talent that will be available the next couple years with Case Keenum (http://espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=191981) , and Jake Locker (http://espndb.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=184374)

I know the draft is deep in OT, DT, and DB's.

The best inside linebacker is McClain - mid 1st rounder (depends on if they go after Porter, cheap ralph; i doubt it).
They project Iupata OG - as a mid 1st rounder and climbing. (can always bump Levitre back to tackle, it's what he played at oregon).
I don't think Okung will fall to us but if he does everything i've read is saying the Bills should sprint to the podium ( much like the redskins did when the Bills picked maybin over Orakpo).

My point is we may be able to trade back a couple picks, maybe land another second or a first next year. Having more than one first rounder will allow us to trade up in the 011 pick for a locker or Keenum. or if we suck enough which is likely we might be low enough to land one ourselves.

DT - Tyson Aluala - mid round 2nd rounder (agressive can play multiple spots on the line)
NT - Terrance Cody - Go around where we are seated 2nd rounder and climbing as he loses weight. (work ethic is what was questionable, though he's showing he wants to play at least since the combine).
ILB - Brandon Spikes - Mid round second rounder

for a team rebuilding picks are necessary. As well i'd like to get a quality line together, and for now maybe get a competent but not long term QB. Whether that be sign a free agent, or trade for one. I don't think Mcnabb will leave philly though. Or consider a QB in the later rounds, remember Tom Brady was a 6th round pick, I still don't like the idea of the current coaching staff training a QB.

There is a lot of talk about Tebow as well. I agree he is a leader, and a winner, and a hard worker. Problem he is a major project and the Bills I believe do not have a competent quarterback developer on the team. If we had a coach like Sam Wyche as a QB coach, and Marc Trestman (also a QB developer) as a OC, i'd say take the chance on Tebow, who i would say goes late second rounder maybe early third depending on his pro day. This is not just because i dislike the coaching choice, Gailey is know for working with players who are sub par, tyler thigpen for example. As well Gailey's worst years were coaching Georgia Tech - he barely escaped with a winning record, and he's hired a few of the coaches he had on staff with him in georgia.

If it's between Deadwards(hate even typing the name), Titzpervert, Brahms or McNabb, I'll take Mcnabb for a 3rd round pick. Then our guys with "good" arm strength can see what good arm strength really looks like. Hate that term "can make all the throws". Either you have power or ya don't.

SI.com’s Peter King is shocked no NFL team in need of a proven QB hasn’t worked harder to make a deal for Donovan McNabb happen.

In his Monday Morning QB column, he lays out several reasons why teams in need of a proven signal caller should take the bird in the hand, so to speak (no pun intended).

He also made a good point in noting that at last week’s Fordham pro day, where QB prospect John Skelton performed that the Eagles had their QBs coach and offensive coordinator at the pro day, somewhat unusual for a projected late round QB. Here’s the excerpt from his MMQB column.

I think one of the quarterbacks is going. Where, I don’t know. When, I don’t know. But one last note about the Eagles and quarterbacks: Fordham University, not exactly a football hotbed, had its pro day for NFL coaches and scouts Friday in the Bronx. Fordham has a late-round quarterback prospect, John Skelton. The Eagles were at the workout with not one coach but two — quarterback coach James Urban and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg. Maybe it means nothing, but it’s pretty rare for two coaches to be looking at a late-round quarterback — especially when you’re as packed at quarterback as the Eagles are. Unless, of course, you’re planning to jettison one of your quarterbacks before the draft.

King mentioned Buffalo among a handful of teams for which he believes a trade for McNabb is worthwhile. The others were Seattle, Cleveland, Oakland, Jacksonville.

From all i've read McNabb wants to remain in philly. He wants to retire there (though if they are going to trade him he wants it done and over with so he can learn a new playbook, and develop chemistry with his new teammates). A lot of people think this is just some hype to light a fire under McNabb's butt. They will probably look to trade Vick, though i don't know why they didn't trade him before they forked over that bonus.

cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.

Earlier today, Jason La Canfora of The NFL Network reported that the Oakland Raiders are the team in the "heaviest pursuit" of McNabb.

The report also says that the Cardinals and Bills are interested and that McNabb would prefer to go to Arizona instead of Buffalo or Oakland.

I can't see the good in Mcnabb, no way will he resign with the Bills. It will be like the Farve experiment with the Jets. A quick fix, which wilson seems to like. I've thought of a long term plan that has the potential to not only get the bills competitive but keep them such for a while.

If i was GM.
1) Force Gailey to fire Modkins, (yes i am not willing to give him a chance).
2) Hire Marc Trestman as offensive coordinator
3) Draft Day, Trade out of the 9th position unless a top tier tackle is on the board. (try to land two firsts (willing to take one next year) or a first and two second). Take Spiller RB (a chris johnson like back) or Iupata OG (one nasty tough dude) round one, hopefully both. willing to try iupata, and levitre as left tackle.
3a) Trade Lynch, Parrish, Corner, Whitner for picks. hopefully second third range.
Play the season see what happens
4)As it is likely they will be near the bottom of the league. now is when you strike on a quarterback. the likes of Jake Locker or Case Keenum. and if you have another pick here you're choice. i mean depends on whom you draft in 2010.

The line will have another year under their belt. wood and levitre are no longer rookies. The Jets sanchez would have been worse than stafford (why i really think the lions are thinking tackle) if it wasn't for the offensive line the jets have. Sure a QB is important, but do your homework, is their really a franchise QB in this draft, maybe Tebow, but his mechanics are not NFL ready and we don't have a Marc Trestman to continue to work with tebow, he'd probably play a different position and could be useful in a wildcat (i do like Tebow's leadership and winning attitude).

If we keep the line intact in a few years if all goes to plan the line will be probowl worthy, and the QB well have great stats.

I know bills fans are sick of seeing their team in the toilet, but the way i see it, they are all ready in the toilet what is one more year, when steps are taken to go in the right direction. Teams that are rebuilding need picks. And teams with as many holes as buffalo need players to fill those holes, one way is through the draft.

Every great QB in this league had someone on their offensive line to trust.

Manning and Brady both had plenty of time in the pocket and good QB's won't happen with our offensive line.

I like your ideas alot, and I think we should at least take the chance on Tebow if he is available when we draft, don't play him this year unless absolutely needed and just keep him working on throwing and such.

We don't take Tebow if he is available, we'll see him be a pro bowler elsewhere in a few years. I think he will be a good QB in time.
