heres what you might have missed.

now, what does everything think of this new league? in their inaugural season, the team saw 4 teams play. this past season, 5. next year, 6. so the league is growing slowly, but surely. with an NFL work stoppage next year, does anyone else think this league can become quite popular?

If the NFL locks out, it will explode. The NFL will probably then scramble to make the UFL like the AHL, or just straight buy the bastards out.

I think using the UFL as a development league would be good for everyone. Practice squad guys would get top string minutes in the UFL and could get called up to play in the NFL. It would require roster rules retooling, but I think it would be for the better.

NOW, that's just my opinion.

ALSO, Drew Willy was one of the Locos' QBs.

That is a great idea to use the UFL as a minor league for the NFL.

and Mike, I highly doubt the NFL will have a work stoppage next year.

well, considering owners put every team into pre-work stoppage mode, the NFL offering refund policies for tickets, the players association advising players to save money for a work stoppage, and the general consensus around the NFL saying "a work stoppage is imminent," i think you may be disappointed.

this guy who covers the cowboys said its 100% its going to happen. will it be a long stoppage? that no one knows. shoot, they are predicting another NHL stoppage. what seemed like a long shot now appears very very real. again.

Yea, I've already lodged 2011 under "Did Not Play" in my mind for the NFL

I think the NFL could use a better developmental league, especially for their quarterbacks.

Honestly, is the NFL the only league out of the top four without a dev. league? They sure could use one.

I think so, even the less popular leagues have em along with the big four... Soccer, golf, baseball, NHL, NBA, NASCAR... all these sports have developmental leagues.

Even F1 has a developmental type league, Formula 3.

It had success with NFL Europe. It was foolish to scrap it altogether as it could have helped with international expansion.

This would be helpful to an extent on developing the likes of Tebow and Clausen.

And improving QB play league wide which I think is a bit of an issue. It seems like in the old days most teams at least had a passable backup. How many guys nowadays can come in and win games like Frank Reich did for Kelly or Scott Mitchell did for Dan Marino?

Is the a Formula 2?

There is now. Came back to life in 2008 after a 25 year absence.
