seeing as we have a lot of NFL fans here, myself included, i figure we should start an NFL lockout thread, ripe with updates, opinions, ideas, ect.

this was posted yesterday:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5882717

the PA urging players to save game checks. thats not an action taken unless things are very very dire.

the PA website has a clock counting down till the current CBA expires.

I can't believe it has gotten this far... I stopped paying real close attention to it months ago... I find it all pretty greedy... and I don't think the players have much of a leg to stand on... and from what I have heard from DeMaurice Smith... he sounds like an ass...

Owners and players both have to give a little here... there is a reason the NFL is so popular, so stop trying to kill it! pricks...

a cowboy beat writer was asked what he feels the odds are for a lockout, and he said absolutely 100%. thats just very very bad.

Demaurice Smith is an ass. He's probably a big reason why a lockout is pending.

If there is a season-long lockout in 2011, any early predictions on who's going to be the 05/06 Sabres of the 2012 season?

Detroit? Cleveland? Arizona? Denver? Buffalo?

I say Cleveland just for the hell of it...

Realistically I'd think Jacksonville would move. Jim Kelly (sp?) has already stated he has a group ready to buy buffalo, and I don't see any of those other teams moving.

I agree with Van Da Man, Jacksonville and San Diego who play in larger markets with teams that don't suck still have trouble filling their buildings.

Personally I think Cleveland has a shot to be a surprise team. They've had a few games this season where they've looked very good.

He didn't ask about moving, he asked about surprise teams that are good, derp.

I'm going with Cleveland or Arizona cuz why the fuck not.

I'm saying Cleveland, but that's because I've always liked them besides the Bills.

I still don't think a lockout will happen, yes they are taking precautions if it does happen. But it's so popular here it would be detrimental to everyone in the NFL if they lockout.

They'll get something done, or I at least hope they do.

Here's a question... would the bills benefit from drafting, lets say, Andrew Luck with their first pick and letting him sit for most of a lockout year, or would it help to draft a positional player, or is it all moot because they won't be playing anyway.

Everyone is talking like there will be a draft this year... would they really stop a draft if they weren't playing? That would suck balls for the pro-bound college kids.

there will be a draft... i am almost certain of that... the bills will retain the rights to the drafted players... but Im not sure how signing or if you could sign those players with no CBA in place... so it wouldn't benefit the bills because NO players are showing up for work... including the ones just drafted...
