I wouldn't say the NL is over yet but some retarded fans think its over. Anyways what a dominating rotation they have Halladay, Oswalt, Hamels and now Lee.

wow... i was just coming to rub this in the noses of yankee fans. :)

the yankees are going to struggle to keep up with the sox next year. he also signed for less dollars per year and less years then the yankees offered. he just simply didnt want to go to new york, apparently.

I'm hearing Yankees fans spitting on Lee's wife has a huge part to play in this.

Edit: Yes I know Lee played down them spitting on her and throwing beer at here, but I'm just repeating what a bunch of baseball pundits were throwing around

Caught this when I got up today.

Holy. Shit.

What else can you say? Much more respect for Lee, not for snubbing the Yankees, but for leaving $30M+ on the table to go where HE wanted to go. Just wow.

And this is why Yankee fans get a bad rap.

John Gruber, a fairly well known Apple blogger, writes on Twitter:

Of course, this guy has zero sports cred. Born and raised in Philly, (not a Fresh Prince reference :p ) , he's a Yankees and Cowboys fan. Total frontrunner.

I know that he doesn't represent ALL Yankee fans, but there's plenty just like him. Pretty damn sad.

Now this is ironic. People getting jazzed up because a FA maybe avoided NY because of it's fans...when he's going to Philly.

Anyway, not landing the biggest FA pitcher one off-season is not going to spiral the Yankees into mediocrity for the next decade. Good for him if Philly is where he wanted to play. NY can find other ways to shore up their rotation through the farm or another FA.

I don't like Montreal or the Celtics, or the Cowboys, but I don't wallow in hatred at every last detail of their organizations just because they have prior success or some amount of obnoxious fans. What's worse, those things or obsessive hatred? It sounds like some people would judge someone just because of the logo on their sports cap.

I don't get why people are saying "It isn't about the money for Cliff Lee cuz he chose Philly over NY"...uhhh, he's still getting $100M.

Could have also been that he wanted to pitch in a historically weaker NL.

Overreact much? Aside from Mike, nobody is really hating on the Yankees here. Nobody has suggested that it's going to screw the Yankees for a decade either.

Overreact? Not considering past baseball talk in here, but you must think I was typing louder or harder than I really was.

Maybe I did.

I dunno. I'm a Sox fan, as we all know, and I would have loved to see the Yankees get Lee in a way. Being able to watch him pitch much more often, plus the appeal of being the best by beating the best. Could you imagine a playoff game with Lester vs Lee? That would be SICK.

EDIT: I don't mean that the Yankees are the best either. :)

It's good times whenever NY and Boston play each other. Baseball doesn't have much else to draw interest lately (as in post Bonds/McGuire/anyone else steroid stories).

BTW, Lee seems like a cool cat and the type of guy that would rather beat the "best" than join the "best". I never really thought he'd sign in NY. Philly sure stepped in it now with both Lee and Hallady. It should be fun if they play NY in the WS, but NY will have to find some pitching for that to happen.
